Home Made Alcoholic Mixes/CocktailsNewest Review: ... fruity that you feel like you should only be drinking it in the summer. Ingredients required 1 oz Vodka 1/2 oz Cointreau or Grand Marnier 1/2 oz Lime juice 1/2 oz Cranberry juice Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and pour into a martini glass. I like to dip the rim of the glass in sugar to give it that pretty touch and of course. Although traditionally, a slice of lemon is used as a garnish,I like to add a piece of lime to the glass, as that's one of the ingredients. If you're really wanting to make a splash, you could also add a sparkler! I haven't done this yet, am wary about the alcohol and fire hazard combo! Screaming Org... more |

Mmm, cocktails! The perfect begining, middle and end to a great night out! Here's a couple of my favourites... The Cosmopolitan Although cosmopolitans were introduced in or around the 1970's and the Sex and the City girls have drunk these for years, I got round to drinking my first only two weeks ago. It's a rum based cocktail, one which I would consider to be an all year round drink, not too fruity that you feel like you should only be drinking it in the summer. Ingredients required 1 oz Vodka 1/2 oz Cointreau or Grand Marnier 1/2 oz Lime juice 1/2 oz Cranberry juice Mix all ingredients ... Read the complete review

While reading this review please open youtube in a new tab and listen to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0mPkGNssWA The official Mjito song might not be everyone's taste but I never met anyone who didn't love a well mixed Mojito. It certainly is one of the classic cocktails you can find on menus all around the world but there are so many recipes that you'll hardly find any two that taste the same. The basics are the same, white rum, mint, lime and sugar - but there are so many variations, brown or white sugar, fresh lime or juice, add Angostura bitter or not, crushed or ice cubes etc. Just toy around with the basics and you'll soon find your ... Aaah...cocktails. You really can't get better than a cocktail can you. Cocktails can be enjoyed at any time of year but I think theres something beautiful about cocktails in the summer. So now it is getting warmer I have been making them a lot more. I love a lot of cocktails, particular favourites include Sex on the Beach, Mojitos and Pina Coladas. But I've recently discovered one that has stormed into the lead as my favourite so I thought I'd share it with you. It's called the Cool Blue Hawaiian. The Cool Blue Hawaiian is a fantastic summer cocktail. It's light, refreshing and, the best of all, it's a beautiful bright turquoise blue colour so very ... Read the complete review

The weathers getting better, summers slowly but surely coming. They even say that it will be the hottest summer we've had. So why not get the loungers ready and prepare yourself to take in the delights of a Sex on the Beach sip by sip in the sun! Sex On The Beach: Sex on the Beach is a fruity, and very popular cocktail for the summer. Usually orange and yellow in colour with additions of reds and pinks. Then with a garnish it just looks like summer in a glass. There are many different recipes on how to make the 'perfect' Sex on the Beach, some completely contrasting others. Some with vodka and peach schnapps, topped with different juices ... Read the complete review

Unfortunately, I am not actually offering myself on a sandy beach but instead the delicious taste of a Sex on the Beach cocktail. I first tried the this cocktail in a local club and from my first sip I was hooked. The taste is delicious and I could keep on drinking it for ages. It has a cool fruity sweet flavour which makes it a great summer drink. It can often be found in bars abroad as I'm sure a lot of holiday makers enjoy drinking this aptly named cocktail near a hot sunny beach somewhere with some other thoughts in mind. A warning though, is does go to your head straight away (well it does mine anyway) and with only one of these I can ... Read the complete review
