Mmm, cocktails! The perfect begining, middle and end to a great night out!

Here's a couple of my favourites...

The Cosmopolitan

Although cosmopolitans were introduced in or around the 1970's and the Sex and the City girls have drunk these for years, I got round to drinking my first only two weeks ago. It's a rum based cocktail, one which I would consider to be an all year round drink, not too fruity that you feel like you should only be drinking it in the summer.

Ingredients required

1 oz Vodka
1/2 oz Cointreau or Grand Marnier
1/2 oz Lime juice
1/2 oz Cranberry juice

Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and pour into a martini glass. I like to dip the rim of the glass in sugar to give it that pretty touch and of course. Although traditionally, a slice of lemon is used as a garnish,I like to add a piece of lime to the glass, as that's one of the ingredients. If you're really wanting to make a splash, you could also add a sparkler! I haven't done this yet, am wary about the alcohol and fire hazard combo!

Screaming Orgasm

My other favourite cocktail is the screaming orgasm. I usually only drink this in the winter because it's white in colour and contains crushed ice and for me this gives it a bit of a wintry feel!

1 oz Vodka
1 oz Disaronno Amaretto
1 oz Tia Maria or Kahlua
1 oz Amarula Cream
1 oz Cream
1 oz Milk

Mix the ingredients together in a shaker and add crushed ice. Again, I like to dip the glass in sugar to make it look that bit more special. I also like to add a marshmellow to the glass rim. Not at all glamourus know but it seems to add to the white wintry sort of theme!

This drink can get a little bit sickly as it's very sweet so I can't personally drink many. They really are scrumptious though!
