Advantages: No headache next morning

Disadvantages: Hmmmmm. Only a disadvantage if you crave alcohol.

As the festive season fast approaches, for those of us out here who rarely if ever drink alcohol, it can be a time when we are accused of not getting into the party spirit. Personally, it has never bothered me, ordering a diet Coke in a bar, but there are times when maybe something different is called for. Not wanting to waken with a sore head the next day, I still tend to plump for the non-alcoholic drinks, although I have been known to sample one or two glasses of Champagne from time to time!

I have spent some time looking up recipes for various non alcoholic cocktails and drinks, some of which may be useful to you over the coming few weeks. As they have no alcohol in them, even the kids can drink them and feel grown up.

This is an excellent op, but I'm afraid I'm too much of a hardened drinker to ever be likely to try one of these beverages!

You can find mulled grape and apple punch on German Christmas markets together with the alcoholic variety, it's called 'children's punch'.
