Advantages: tastes great, many flavours
Disadvantages: expensive
Why should you make something homemade when its easier to buy it. So here I am, introducing to you... its fresh, its thick... its FRijj. So why has become the UK's favourite milkshake? Here are my thoughts. Taste ----- Perhaps the biggest selling point of the drink. If I had to describe it, I would say it was somewhere in between, the sickly ice-cream milkshake from McDonald's and the powder rubbish from Nesquik. The liquid is thick but smooth, which slides down your throat just slow enough to ensure a strong aftertaste- which is good. A problem I've had with other milkshakes is that when you vary from flavour to flavour, I find very little distinction between each (am I weird?). However, the differences between the flavours of FRijj are incredibly defining. So what flavours do they produce. They have the usual five, which are Chocolate, the most popular in Britain Banana, Strawberry, Milk Chocolate Extreme, ] Twice the thickness of White Chocolate Extreme. ] normal FRijj. They also sell limited editions, ranging from coffee to the latest- Chilla Vanilla- fresh for the summer. Smell ----- This is good and bad. For you, who has been anticipating drinking this drink, to open the bottle and the smell burst out and hit you in the face, its intensely satisfying. However, that's where the good finishes. The smell is so intense. If someone opens one in a room, every body in the room will be able to smell it. This is not that bad but if you have a flavour such as banana, which many have a love hate relationship with, there can be somebody leaving the room or wretching. I have witnessed this, and is quite embarrassing.:( I think they should lessen the smell a tad, but who am I to tell them what to do? Packaging -------- The standard bottle of FRijj is 500ml. Its packaging is large and curvy with a 'flubber' design of the milkshake colour-such as yellow banana e
tc. There is also a safety opening cap to seal the top. This is very good as you would not want to have spillage of this smelly dairy product in your car or on a sofa... errrggh. You can get bigger bottles, such as the 1 litre bottle. Pricing ------- This is perhaps its strongest drawback. As is the climax with todays shops, there an incredible variation between prices at different outlets. At a petrol or service station you should expect to be pushed to about £1.20-£1.50 a bottle. However, at a supermarket, it can be as low as 60p a bottle. So it is expensive, but you pay for quality these days. Ingredients ----------- I know some of you like to know the ingredients of this high temperature pasteurised low fat milkshake before you buy the product for your allergy worries etc so here goes, BANANA FLAVOUR Skimmed Milk (69%) Whole Milk (16%) Reconstituted Skimmed Milk Powder Sugar Modified Maize Starch Skimmed Milk Powder Flavouring Stabilisers (Carrageenan, Guar Gum) Colour (Beta Carotene) Good for you ------------ Surprisingly yes, this drink is one of the best milkshakes you can buy. Due to the high skimmed milk content, it has less than 1% fat. It's is made with fresh milk so that it is rich in calcium with 625mg per 500ml bottle- 75% of your recommended daily allowance of calcium. It is also suitable for vegetarians. Personal Preference ------------------- I started using this purely because it was convenient being ready to drink. I used to use the powder based milkshakes, but I found that it was too much hassle to make them and I could not be bothered (how lazy do I sound?) My favourite flavour is chocolate but I'm drinking banana at the moment as its poured over my coco pops and is delicious! It was at the recommendation of the website FRijj.com-however, as a site FRijj.com is very interactive but very unhelpful to get information from.
r>Notes ----- Just three notes from me to make sure you enjoy your drink evermore. -shake well- otherwise the most disgusting concentration develops at the bottom. -Refrigerate- FRijj goes off very easily because it is milk based so keep it refrigerated for optimal taste. -Don't try and consume it all at once. You have three days to drink it so why rush it. You just drink in excess because its there, and then you feel sick, so chill out, relax and take your time... Enjoy :)

- 21/01/03 Hi and a belated welcome to DooYoo from me.
A very good review there, but I must say it's not actually in the right category!
If you want to request a category in Food & Drink then let me know and I'll pass on your request to DooYoo - opinions just plonked in any old category don't tend to get crowns as they're not as helpful to a consumer who might not be able to find them on the site.
Have fun here though - try reading some opinions on the site as well as writing more - rate everything and leave the odd comment too. (You'll probably get more reads if you read too!)
