Advantages: Creamy but has a sharp bite to it
Disadvantages: Not to everyones tastes
Recently I have become a huge cheese fan, I've always liked cheese and there is generally loads of different types in the fridge. However, having the same cheese can be quite boring after a while so I am now always on the look out for different cheeses especially from across the continent. Fortunately where I work there is a small deli just a few miles away which is an aladdins cave of cheese!
In the past few weeks I have bought quite a few so you may see quite a few cheese reviews! One of the first one's I bought as a small block of Huntsman Cheese. I love Gloucester Cheese and I love Stilton, so surely putting the two together much be ideal!
*~*~* The Cheese *~*~*
Made by hand, this outstanding cheese consists of Clawson's world-class Blue Stilton sandwiched between layers of Double Gloucester cheese. This results in the forceful Stilton flavors complementing the mellow creaminess of the Double Gloucester. Its name echoes the region it originated from, famous for its hunting tradition. Each wheel is hand-made at Long Clawson Dairy in the UK, however a few more dairies are now producing their own version of this cheese.
*~*~* Storing and Buying *~*~*
Quite an easy cheese to store really it has no immediate "pong" but keep it well wrapped and stored in a cheese box and not on its own in the fridge. When buying a block of this cheese make sure there are no signs of cracking, it isn't sweating if its already pre-cut and packed and that it isn't too hard. Ideally buy from the block so you know its fresh.
*~*~* Serving Ideas *~*~*
A real crowd pleaser, Huntsman brings color and contrast to any cheese tray. Serve after dinner, at room temperature, with figs or fresh apples. Because of this cheese's dual nature, it pairs well with any hearty red or full-bodied white. Try a Chardonnay or Cabernet Sauvignon.
*~*~* Recipe *~*~*

4. Top with the crumbled cheese.
*~*~* My Opinion *~*~*
I'm really please I bought this cheese as it has a lovely rich but creamy taste which makes it ideal for a quick snack after dinner. I normally eat this with an apple as they go great together. I have found this cheese also lasts quite a while in the fridge and doesn't stink it out, which some blue cheeses can. I certainly will be buying this again however it is hard to get hold of in normal supermarkets I know Waitrose and Sainsburys do not stock it as of yet, so you will have to pop into a local cheese deli to see if they stock it.
Summary: Superb flavour
