It's always distressing when you find out that a multi-national company better known for manufacturing household products of the laundry detergent / aerosol propellants type (in this particular it's case Unilever, although along similar lines, I believe Reckitt Chemicals may have a foothold in the 'Sara Lee' range of industrially-produced chocolate cakes too) is also responsible for making something that you would otherwise have considered as being food. In this case, the 'dairy spread' / substitute for butter known as 'I Can't Believe It's Not Butter.' Made by Unilever. Who'd have thought. Well, the clues were pretty obvious really. This is a 'churned' ... Read the complete review

I know Butter isnt good for you, Ive read the "shock! horror!" stories about the dangers of too much saturated fat that the media like to resurrect every now and again - so, being concious of the choices I make when supermarket shopping I made the decision to buy "I cant believe its not butter" instead of my normal choice of Lurpak. Butter is one of my guilty pleasures, especially on hot toast, but as this was on offer recently I decided to do a comparison so that I could maybe save myself from myself... I first heard of the brand years ago when it launched and at the time hated the name of it, I thought it was a cheap, gimmicky ... Read the complete review

I love to have real butter, the kind that is really tasty, salty and impossible to spread. I don't however allow myself to have it very often and will buy the next best thing which is Flora Buttery. I love Flora Buttery and will always buy it unless there is a really good offer on another brand. This week while in Morrisons there was a really good offer on and I bought I can't believe it's not butter for just 50p. When I buy Flora Buttery I think it costs about £1.50 so for only a third of the cost I had to try I can't believe it's not butter, I could get 3 tubs for the price of 1 Flora. After using it for the last week I have been pleasantly suprised and ... Read the complete review

Clearly before this hit the supermarket shelves someone should have said to the manufacturers of this stuff guys this is butter. Real proper calorie laden produced on a farm handmade by the farmers wife in a churn butter. It comes in a block its impossible to spread unless you warm it up and most importantly its made with cream, just cream. Anything thats not entirely cream based is simply not butter. Worse still anything thats based on blends of vegetable oil is by definition not butter in the same way that you can't pass off a Lentil Bake as a Beef Wellington. We know the difference. Clever marketing is all well and good but slapping blended ... Read the complete review

I CANT BELIEVE ITS NOT BUTTER SPECIAL OFFER AT SAINSBURY,S RIGHT NOW... Yes i was most suprised to note that my local Sainsbury,s supermarket are selling this at half price at the moment for 57p as appossed to the usual £1.14p and having just read a review on this have learned that you can freeze this too, so will be popping over to stock up on some to put into my freezer. It contains sixty percent less saturated fat than butter, and i absolutely love the taste that this vegtable fat and buttermilk spread has. It tastes lovely, as i have tried it on a piece of hot toast by itself, and it will also be a great addition to have ... Read the complete review
