I can't believe it's not butter Description: Manufacturer: Unilever / Type: Margarine A 500g tub of this product cost me £1.16 from a local supermarket and can be found in most shops and supermarkets in the chiller cabinet section. Recently I've been eating Utterly Butterly but when I went shopping a few weeks ago I found Heron had I Can't Believe It's Not Butter on offer for 85p for a 500g tub so I decided to try that instead. Nutritional statistic wise it's about the same as Utterly Butterly with 60% less saturated fat than butter and each 100g giving us 536 calories, 0.2 ... Read the complete review

It has been quite a while that I Can't Believe It's Not Butter has been on the shelves of our favourite supermarkets now. I remember when it first came out, it was like a really big deal that finally we had a product that was essentially like butter but with the physical qualities of margarine, in terms of being spreadable. It has been ... Read the complete review

It's always distressing when you find out that a multi-national company better known for manufacturing household products of the laundry detergent / aerosol propellants type (in this particular it's case Unilever, although along similar lines, I believe Reckitt Chemicals may have a foothold in the 'Sara Lee' range of industrially-produced ... I know Butter isnt good for you, Ive read the "shock! horror!" stories about the dangers of too much saturated fat that the media like to resurrect every now and again - so, being concious of the choices I make when supermarket shopping I made the decision to buy "I cant believe its not butter" instead of my normal choice of ... I love to have real butter, the kind that is really tasty, salty and impossible to spread. I don't however allow myself to have it very often and will buy the next best thing which is Flora Buttery. I love Flora Buttery and will always buy it unless there is a really good offer on another brand. This week while in Morrisons there was a really ... Read the complete review

Clearly before this hit the supermarket shelves someone should have said to the manufacturers of this stuff guys this is butter. Real proper calorie laden produced on a farm handmade by the farmers wife in a churn butter. It comes in a block its impossible to spread unless you warm it up and most importantly its made with cream, just cream. ... Read the complete review

I have been using this product for a while now and it is one of my favourite spreads and it can be used in cooking too. It is mostly made of vegetable fat with buttermilk. It has half the saturated fat of butter so is a lot healthier for you. It comes in a blue and yellow plastic tub. It's got a blue background with yellow splodges ... Read the complete review

When it comes to butter it's one of my favourite things which is a reason I don't buy it! Butter just gets consumed too fast by me and I may be slim but I wouldn't be if I was to indulge myself the way I'd love to! However I'm not mad about low fat spreads and margarines which leaves me with a slight problem because I do like toast and sandwiches ... Read the complete review

Well lets start with the obvious - yes you can tell its not butter. But this doesn't mean that it should be immediately dismissed. The reason you can tell this isn't butter is that it spreads in a totally different way and is much smoother. However, I would say that this is probably one of the better butter substitutes. It can be used ... Read the complete review

The name of this margarine/butter substitute is very attractive especially when these days everyone is diet conscious. It comes in a dee blue yeallow tub with a plastic seal on the top and a lid above it. I happened to pick up two of these tubs of vegetable spread as the offer in my local shop was buy one and get one free which is too good to turn down these days with the sheer expense of food shopping. Now the tubs are 500g and the packaging is in a distinctive blue and yellow design almost like the pattern on a cow but make no mistake you ... Read the complete review
