I went to Iceland to buy one of these strawberry cheesecakes after I heard someone saying how nice it was, it was only £1.00 so I thought it was worth a try. The cheesecake was ok but I don't think I'll bother again unless I'm actually in Iceland, which isn't very often because we hardly ever shop there or go near one. It took forever for the cheesecake to defrost and I sat there drumming my fingers for nearly 2 hours before it was thawed enough to eat without breaking my teeth on a frozen strawberry! This cheap dessert is hearty enough to serve 4, although it could easily be ravenously chomped on by two greedy sweet-toothed people. It does however take an awfully long time to defrost; I would leave it for at least an hour longer than recommended. Even then you may get the occasional shock of an unthawed strawberry that may kick you in the teeth. Too often have I taken it out of the freezer too late and ruined a perfectly good dessert by munching on it while half frozen. ------------------- Ok, in my previous reviews I said something about living light and healthy but I just couldn't resist the Iceland Strawberry Cheesecake for only 1 Pound - and to be honest, I don't regret it! The cheesecake is delicious and a real bargain for only 1 Pound. ------------------- Look & Taste The cheesecake looks really tempting when you take it out of the box. The strawberries are of a nice red, big and not squashed as you'd expect it from such a cheap cake. As almost all Iceland products the cake is frozen when you buy it.
