The biscuit does taste a little bit dry though and it is very hard however I guess if it wasn't as hard then they would maybe break up too easily in the bag, and you do find when you open these that the biscuits are usually in perfect condition, but if anything it's the icing that has broken. The top icing part then is made to look, well like a gem I suppose. Its only a small icing part really but its swirled around and they all come with their own icing top on too. The icing itself is really hard too, making t...more

Premium Review Jacobs Iced Gems: a gem for the children (160 words)

Not being a big fan of icing i am not keen on these but my hubby and children love these. Because they get eaten so quickly in my house i buy them in multipacks, a multipack costs me £1.09p from morrisons and in the multipack i get 6 small bags of iced gems each containing about 30 iced gems. An iced gem for anyone who doesnt know is a small biscuit, just smaller than a 10p piece which remindes me of a rich tea biscuit type taste, this has a little squirt of icing on the top which has been done with a piping bag to make it triangular in shape, thick at the bottom and going to a point at the top. The biscuit base on its own is not very ...  Read the complete review

JACOBS ICED GEM BISCUITS. Just came on to see if this was on the list of suggestions and see that someone else has also done an excellent review on these lovely iced gems biscuits, so glad that they are popular too. The Bag ********** They come in an easy to open bag, and contain six smaller bags of individual biscuits, too, each bag inside contains 25grams of lovely little biscuits, my grandchildren absolutely love these. The Taste ********** Little small round biscuits, that are cruncy and taste well its hard to describe them, because they are so addictive, honestly, you just cant resist them, the biscuit is ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Jacobs Iced Gems: A Gem For Kids Parties (373 words)

I remember these from kids parties years ago, though we never had them in the cupboard. I bought a pack last week because they were on offer & took a little trip down memory lane. I can't say I'm a huge fan, or find them to be anything extra special, they're a tasty little snack. Iced Gems are produced by Jacob's, a company dating back to 1885 with years of snack-related knowledge and experience. Iced Gems seem to be a very popular choice for kids parties, or at least they used to be, though I'm not sure if things have changed since I last went to one! These are sold in multipacks of 6 x 25g bags, and are usually found amongst the snacks & ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review These gems are one good find! (558 words)

Jacobs are the creators of many delicious snacks to tantalise your tastebuds, whether you are in a sweet or savoury mood. The snack of choice for today is a bag of their finest Iced Gems. They are available in multipacks of 6 at a cost of £1.33 from your local Tesco. Each mini bag contains 25g of beautiful Iced Gems. Iced Gems are small, round biscuits baked to perfection. These tiny biscuits are topped with different coloured swirls of frosted, sugary icing. They come in pink, purple, yellow and white. I am not entirely sure what flavour is attached to which colour, but the yellow ones taste of lemon and the purple ones taste the best! Each packet ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Jacobs Iced Gems: Crunchy, Coloured Gems Of Fun (670 words)

I remember when I was at primary school, I always used to swap one of my best friends for her iced gems at lunchtime. Needless to say that since then Jacob's Iced Gems like any product with a strong shelf life have evolved though I was delighted recently when I tried some to discover that they're still pretty much the same little pieces of goodness they were some 10 years previously. £1.30 is probably the standard price you can expect to pay for a multipack of these little beauties. You get six bags inside that are about 25g each. They're extremely small but like I said, make great lunchbox fillers or just occasional snacks for children [or for yourself]. I ...  Read the complete review
