Premium Review Jaffa Cake Mini Rolls: The Merging (509 words)

Some things are sacred, so some say if that is the case then perhaps McVities Jaffa Cake formula should come into this category. The humble yet highly emulated Jaffa cake has over its many years given countless joy to a similar quantity of consumers. Simple delicious so surely it must hold its place in sacredness. You'd think so the imitations are good but can in no way match the brilliance that is McVities, and it is such brilliance that has transformed the Jaffa cake to the next level. Another product which we have taken too it quite a similar way is the Swiss roll, it has in it's own right got a special place in out hearts, the clever boffins at ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Jaffa rolls or mini cakes? (509 words)

Well, I love jaffa cakes and I love mini rolls so when I saw the Mcvites Jaffa Cake mini rolls on offer at Sainsburys I knew I just had to try them. They come in packets of six that cost £1.35. That seems quite a lot per cake but as these were on a 'buy one get one free' offer it made them much better value. They come with the familiar blue and orange jaffa cake wrapping and logo and each mini roll is individually wrapped. It reads on the packaging that these are 'the perfect blend of dark crackly chocolate and light sponge with a zingy orange centre. Well it sounded really good so I had to see if they would live up to their promise! Each mini roll ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Jaffa Cake Mini Rolls: Jaffa cake mini rolls - not for me (569 words)

I read and rated about 4-5 reviews on Jaffa cakes here and on another site. I went to Sainsbury's another day and I saw thatMcVitie's Jaffa Cakes were on offer. A box (containing 6 mini rolls) was for 1 pound. I decided that I will try too, so I put it in my basket. On the blue package it is said that it is more orangey. The letters of Jaffa Cakes looks like they were cut out of an orange peel. You can also see a picture of a mini roll on the wrapper. I waited for the moment we arrive home to open it. There is a transparent tray and the mini rolls are packed individually. I opened one. It was covered with thick dark chocolate. Inside the chocolate is a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review All rolled up and covered in chocolate (329 words)

Jaffa cake mini roll. At work when it's someone's birthday they usually bring in cake and goodies for the rest of the staff. Recently someone bought in some Jaffa cake mini rolls. These mini rolls come in a packet of 6. The individual Jaffa cake mini roll comes in a blue plastic foil wrapping to keep it fresh. The writing on the wrapper is in orange. I opened the wrapper 6 cakes and disclosed a mini Swiss roll all covered in chocolate. I bit into the dark chocolate; it was a good tasting chocolate. It was a very thin layer that cracked when I bit it. I lost a few crumbs of chocolate onto my lap. Inside the chocolate coating was the cake ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Jaffa Cake Mini Rolls: Mmmmini Rolls from Jaffa Cakes (483 words)

Surely these can't be included in the 'is it a biscuit, is it a cake' dispute, they are little cakes! I bought these from Sainsburys for £1.09, buy 1 get 1 free. You get six in a pack so not bad value really. Jaffa Cakes are made by McVities so you know you can trust them to be a tasty treat! The Mini Rolls are just like tiny swiss rolls with orange jam, plain sponge and a crispy thin coating of dark chocolate. I love how the chocolate is described as 'Crackly' it's so accurate, when you bite into one it really does crackle and crack! Dark chocolate goes brilliantly with the orange and I think any other chocolate would just spoil it, ...  Read the complete review
