I love Jaffa Cakes - always have done and even more so now as they are one of my "allowed" bits of chocolate that I can eat. I would expect that most people have tried these yummy treats but for the uninitiated here is a little review of the original orange version (For your information as I write this review I have a box of 36 in front of me and currently there are only 34 in there - we shall see how many are left at the end of the review!) McVities Jaffa Cakes are actually owned by United Biscuits who own Jacobs and Hula Hoops to name but a few. They have tantalised the taste buds for over 60 years and have undergone many marketing transformations ... Read the complete review

Introduction I am a huge fan of chocolate, jelly, cake and biscuits and to find all elements combined in a little cushion of gorgeousness is pure genius. Although the idea of a mini-cake supporting a layer of jelly enclosed in chocolate sounds quite frankly bizarre the result is spectacular and is definitely one of my favourite foods. A Brief History of the Jaffa Cake I promise that I'm not just giving you a history lecture for the sake of it and contextualising the Jaffa cake in the political world has made it much more enjoyable to eat. There has been much debate over whether the Jaffa cake is in fact a cake or a biscuit. Although the ... Read the complete review

My husband adores Jaffa Cakes and I suppose, given his sweet tooth, they are one of the better things in the sweets, cakes and biscuits selection that he can eat. Each Jaffa Cake only contains 1g of fat and 46 calories although each one does contain 6.2g of sugar! Before we start lets get one thing straight Jaffa Cakes are definitely a cake and not a biscuit. Apparently the Inland Revenue took McVitie's to court saying that Jaffa cakes were liable for VAT as they are classed as a 'luxury biscuit'. McVitie's said that they weren't and they won with the explanation that Jaffa Cakes go hard when stale as cake does, whereas biscuits go soft when ... Read the complete review

What can I say about this irresistible snack produced by McVities? They are to die for! I've always enjoyed Jaffa Cakes but recently I've found myself eating them more often - oops! This is probably due to the fact my work has them in the canteen every day but hey, who can resist them? Because I certainly cant! The size of the Jaffa Cake is just perfect. They are the ideal size for snacking in-between meals and not only that, but they contain 25% less calories and 65% less fat than your average chocolate digestive biscuit! My favourite part of these little cake is the sponge on the bottom. Its is quite crumbly, it compliments the chocolate and orange ... Read the complete review

I've got such a sweet tooth and it's only got worse since I had children! One f my favourites are Jaffa Cakes and I could quite happily polish off a whole box in one sitting.... In case you've been living in a box your whole life, Jaffa Cakes are a 5cm diameter round piece of sponge, covered in dark chocolate with a 'smashing orangey bit' (their words) inside. Some people think that the orange jelly inside is actually made from apricots flavoured with tangerine oil, but if you look at the ingredients, apricots and tangerines aren't mentioned at all. It's just made from orange juice (and sugar and gelatin...) The best way to eat Jaffa Cakes, I ... Read the complete review
