Advantages: A Lovely Snack
Disadvantages: A Whole packet goes so easy
Jaffa Cakes from Mcvities
I find myself always drawn to buying Jaffa cakes for the simple fact that they are cheap and tasty. They also boast only being 1gram of fat per little cake. This I find is irrelevant especially if you, like myself, can get a whole packet all in one go.
Jaffa cakes are basically circular biscuit shaped snacks. They consist of a layer of soft sponge at the bottom with a small round bit of orange flavoured jelly sitting on top of the sponge and then the whole top of the cake is coved in a very thin layer of milk chocolate.
The Jaffa Cake can be put into the mouth whole of eaten in a couple of bites but I do prefer to eat the sponge layer first and then suck the jelly covered in chocolate at the end. This makes the cake last longer and the taste linger in ones mouth.
Now for a whole packet of these Jaffa Cakes there are 12 little cakes held inside a box and you should expect to pay around 80pence per packet. This I think is a real bargain but I have strayed once or twice and found myself trying other brands of these Jaffa Cakes such as Tesco value Jaffa’s and these I find are not as nice as the McVities version but at a fraction of the price are not too bad.
The Mcvities Jaffa Cakes have such a soft tasting foam bottom that literally melts away in the mouth. The orange jelly piece is so zesty and flavoursome and topped off with the smooth yet creamy taste of the milk chocolate I think these Jaffa Cakes are the perfect snack for anyone to enjoy.
Summary: A great treat for anyone
