Advantages: totally yummy
Disadvantages: totally addictive
Cappuccino, caramel apple, peanut butter, pine colada and strawberry cheesecake. The flavours I can never get enough of. The problem is, when I'm walking around town and I feel a bit peckish, its not exactly normal to be carrying around a jar of peanut butter, a box of cheesecake and a pina colada. In fact, if I saw someone digging into this sort of picnic I'd probably think they were mad.
A solution I hear you ask? Well, isn't it obvious? Turn them into beans!
Jelly belly jelly beans have been around for years and are becoming increasingly more popular as more flavours are being introduced. The latest being chilli mango (which I'm not ashamed to admit that I am very excited about). From apple to jalapeno, the flavours are varied to pleasure every bodies taste buds
So do they really taste like what they claim to taste like? Well, its not like eating the real thing but, for a bean, its pretty darn close. I often try and guess what flavour I am eating and tend to get them right but whether that's due to years of practise (which is just a 'cooler' way of saying wasting my money on sweets) or whether jelly belly's are in fact the real food disguised as beans, I don't know. The point is if you want your candy tasting like alcohol or spices, jelly belly beans are probably the closest your going to get.
If you haven't noticed already, I am a huge fan of these little miracle beans. As a result of this, my reward is not only my inevitably unhealthy teeth but the knowledge of all the best bean deals you can get. After searching for the cheapest deal I could find I came across my bargain. For £1.98 you could get 300g at Asda which, when buying directly from jelly belly, could come to about £5! So thankfully, when you're all addicted to the sugary goodness, your wallets wont be completely empty!
Beginning to fancy a apple flavoured bean then? What about vomit? I'm not joking either. Harry potters, berty botts every flavoured beans have come to life with jelly belly's recent creation 'beanboozled'. They are intended for pranks or games with your friends rather than pleasuring your taste buds and should only be eaten knowing that, although you may have the delight of swallowing the plum or popcorn flavoured beans, chances are your going to be spitting out the skunk spray or mouldy cheese flavours.
I have had the rather...unfortunate experience of playing this game and not entirely sure I can call it fun. With my friend happily eating her pile of peaches and pears I went through my pile of boogers and ear wax... So if any of you choose to take the risk, don't say I didn't warn you!
So although these irresistible treats can be quite expensive they are totally worth it and I doubt you'll be able to stop yourself after the first beans been eaten!
Thanks for reading!
Summary: Not something you should miss out on!
