Advantages: Gorgeous flavours and gooey texture

Disadvantages: cant buy it at local supermarket

When you think of fudge you usually think of vanillia flavoured solid cubes however this is where Jim Garrahy's fudge is totally different!

The fudge is totally unique in that it is a hand made, soft and creamy texture. It totally melts in your mouth! To me its more a mixture of fudge and butter icing and totally delicious.

You have two options if you want to purchase the fudge, you can either go to one of the few shops across the country or you can buy online. I first fell in love with the fudge in the York shop however for special occassions I now order it online at www.fudgekitchen.co.uk

There are about 20 flavours of fudge online (toffee, belgian choc, strawberry and cream etc), but if you go to a shop they usually have a unique flavour that is only found in that store.


A box of 6 slices of fudge will cost you about £20.00 which sounds alot until you compare the weight to that of another brand i.e. Thorntons.


The website delivery is very quick indeed and costs about £5.00 which again seems alot until you factor in that it usually comes the next day and the weight of the box (fudge is very heavy).


If you can visit a shop its very worth while as you get to see the fudge made by hand every day. The website has alot of information about the fudge and its shops. They also do a special wedding favor service.


Another plus of the website is that you can get dairy free fudge which can be quite hard to find in the highstreet. Usually they only do this in toffee or vanillia however for special occassions such as Easter they do special diary free boxes.


The downside to this fudge is once you taste it you will crave it forever!!
