... tin a little slippy and drippy. However it is a fully recyclable tin which is always a bonus. Smell and taste ~~~~~~~~~~~ My wife loves tuna but me; well it's the smell that puts me off. A bit like sweaty socks. The tuna itself I would class as an ok fish but I rate it fairly low on my top ten of choice fish to choose from. Not too salty which is good and comes in good sized chunks. Cost ~~~~ You can pick up a tin for under a £ or you can get a three or four pack and save a few pennies. Cooking ~~~~~~ Well to be hones...more

John West Tuna Chunks in Sunflower Oil. ================================= Packaging. ~~~~~~~~~ The Tuna tin is not that distinctive and comes in a green and yellow palm sized tin. It does not have the usual ring pull but instead needs the attention of a tin opener. Which can leave a sharp edged rim but remember to always take it completely off, better for any wild life that may try to stick its nose in the tin somewhere down the line. I can't tell you how long it's been since I've had tinned tuna until I used this the other day! I'm not a very healthy person usually and consume an awful lot of junk food. However I'm getting fit and healthy, working out almost every-day and watching what I eat so I grabbed some tins of fish the other day and this I bought in Sainsbury's costing me 92p cos I wanted to make a tuna pasta bake, shove some in a pitta with salad for a quick snack and that kind of thing! I went for a brand I know of and trust and this is it! The Packaging.... I'm not sure what other sizes this is available in and I have looked and am pretty sure I have seen it at some ...  Read the complete review

We eat quite a lot of tinned tuna in our house as my other half absolutely loves tuna mayonnaise and the like; he often takes it to his work with him for his lunch. Because we go through so much of it, I tend to try and buy it in bulk, as it usually works out to be a lot cheaper than buying individual cans as and when we need them. I was pleased, therefore, when my partner came home with four tins of "John West tuna in Sunflower oil" and happily informed me that all four tins had cost the purse-friendly sum of £1.19 from a local grocer. I will point out at this stage that I have never before purchased tuna in sunflower oil, and tend to ...  Read the complete review
