Getting a bit fruity or just plain nuts (Jordans Special Muesli Bars)

I tend to always buy Jordans Organic Porridge Oats as they are good quality and taste really nice so I thought I would give their museli bars a try.

The front of the box has a picture of sun-baked fields and a close up of the ingredients of nuts and grapes which all goes to create the image that this is a healthy snack and good for you. On the plus side there are only naural ingredients used in the manufacture of this product. However those natural ingredients do include sugar so it is not all good although the addition of honey and oats alongside the nuts and dried fruit is a good thing.

In fact these bars are over 50% fruit and nuts in the form of raisins, sultanas, dried papaya, dates, roast hazelnuts, dried banana, almonds, dried pineapple, pecan nuts, raw coconut, barley flakes and pumpkin seeds. I have to be honest though I found it pretty hard to detect most of these ingredients and I do wonder in just what quantities some of them can be found.

These are quite substantial bars and certainly they are quite filling, the bars are nice and moist when you bite into them and they have a wonderfully fruity, nutty flavour to them which is to be expected given the ingredients. I can certainly detect the taste of he dates which is quite strong and also the almonds, the tasteis actually really nice and I would certainly recommend these as a nice healthy option for a snack.

Summary: Good cereal bar
