I am terrible when it comes to snacking. I find myself sitting at my desk eating, chocolate, cakes or biscuits, all the tasty things in life. A few months ago I put a lot of effort in to losing some weight (see my exercise DVD review - shameless plug I know!), and I started to see it gradually creep back on again :-( So I started taking fruit to work which was ok but still left me feeling hungry later in the afternoon. My dad recommended I tried rice cakes so I went and bought a packet from the health food shop opposite my office. Shamefully it is actually closer then the shop I'd walk to to buy junk. I bought the slightly salted thin slice rice cakes and some ... Read the complete review

Ok, im sorry, but there is no nice way to put this. These rice cakes are horrible. Now, please don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those people who has to have her food fried or dripping in fat or sugar to enjoy it. Im actually quite a health freak and LOVE clean, fresh, healthy, organic, yummy, nutritious, wholesome foods. As I myself suffer with a chronic condition, it is very important that I eat well and eat healthily. So let's just clear that one up. Im not simply having a whinge about these rice cakes beacuse they aren't covered in sugar. Im having a whinge because they are completely tasteless and nutritionally void of any goodness ... yum low in fat rice cakes. I have recently gone on a mission to lose weight and I discovered my weakness is snacking! Crisps chocolate, biscuit I just love snacking and I cannot stop just like that. A friend at work who is also trying to lose weight suggested rice cakes as a snack. I popped to Tesco and 95p later came away with a nice fresh packet of rice cakes. The packet is white with a blue label the brand is KILLO. Rice cakes are low in fat and there are only 28 calories per slice so they are very good for losing weight and snacking. The packet shows rice cakes being eaten with cottage cheese and kiwi on top but personally I wouldn't put anything on them they ... Read the complete review

I love these little cakes of wonder! At only 28 calories a slice and less than 3% they are made from Whole grain brown rice with a little smattering of salt, they are yummy. It is also reassuring that there is no hidden nasty's in the ingredients as they are made with no artificial flavors or additives I like the fact that they are just so versatile you can eat them with sweet or savory foods. I just love them with cream cheese and smoked salmon, cheese and pickle or a sweet option of peanut butter, honey and banana, the possibilities are endless! My daughter is nearly 2 and she enjoys them with honey and banana a great low - fat and low- salt ... Read the complete review
