If I had to live off of one food source, it would definitely be cereal. I was wanting to try something new, something different. I was watching Tv and an advert happened to catch my eye. The Kellogs Oatbakes were described as if there was no other cereal like no other, so I thought I would give them a try and see if this was correct.
I had my first Oatbake this morning, and I about died. Never had I tasted anything so devine! They have an exceptionally rich taste, and they leave a sweet sence on your lips.
That may sound like the perfect breakfast cereal, but they get a bit sickly after a while. The Oatbakes themselves are smaller than I thought, at about an inch long each, and even then I have to bite them in half to eat them because of their strong taste.
Oatbakes are made of oat (stating the obvious), oat bran, cinnamon, and nutmeg. You can really taste the cinnamon. I never knew that was in it until I tried them. But I did double check to make sure it WAS that which I could taste! You can just taste the nutmeg and no more. You are aware of it in the texture of the cereal though. And the smell rising from them is delectable too, fills the room with a cinnamon glow!
Oatbakes are very crisp and crunchy when not soaked in milk. But by the time you get to the ones at the bottom of the bowl, they are very soft and the sweet cinnamon flavour is even stronger, oozing in milk. I'm not keen on the ones at the bottom!
The packaging of this is quite peculiar! It is a lot smaller than other cereal boxes! But nevertheless, it still holds 375g of the delicious cereal. On the front, there is a picture of a spoon, with milk and four Oatbakes perched upon it. It looks so perfect! It does not reflect the taste though. They look a lot more savoury. The quote on the front says: "our tastiest high fibre cereal yet!" Now, if you have tased other kellog's high fibre cereals and enjoyed them, like I did, it makes these ones even more tempting!

Though they come across as healthy, these Oatbakes may surprise you with their content:
per 100g... per 40g serving...
395 calories 217 calories
15g fat 8g fat
58g carbohydrates 29g carbohydrates
So as you can see, they're not that healthy in comparison to other breakfast cereals.
But the good thing about these is that they really do fill you up! Usually, I can be still quite peckish after my breakfast, but no more!
*****
So having a bowl of delicious kellog's Oatbakes every so often, maybe a bowl or two a week, is a perfect was to start the day!
