... certainly do that, but do make sure you drink loads of water till you get used to them or you will get the gripes. Opening the packet you can smell the slightly cereal, malty, rabbit-food aroma. On tucking in you get the crunch and slight sweetness, difficult to describe but pleasant. I quite like them with plain yoghurt. There is still 17% sugar in the product to rot your teeth, but then without it, together with the 1.7% salt, they would probably be in-edible. Basically they are just wheat bran, sugar and flavourin...more

"You won't like them, I know you won't!" My Dad seemed to think he knew my tastes better than I did, and swore I would dislike All-Bran! I was determined to prove him wrong, and at a pound a box from Asda, it was at no great cost either! ***** All Bran is manufactured by Kellogg's; a company first set up in the late 1800s in the USA by a man name William Keith Kellogg, which started to produce Cornflakes cereal. This company became one of the most successful cereal manufactures around, providing breakfast cereals globally. By the 1950s, they had come up wit a wide range of different cereals to suit peoples' tastes. All Bran is ...  Read the complete review

With an alarming 27% fibre, these must be one of the highest fibre breakfast cereals and must therefore be good for you. Whilst decidedly un-appetising looking, you can actually come to love them. They stay crunchy in cold milk and reasonably so in warm and they give a bit of taste to some of the more bland cereals and take the sweetness off others. They have the stigma of being that breakfast cereal you dread as a child, what auntie so and so has had all her life to keep her bowels moving. Well they certainly do that, but do make sure you drink loads of water till you get used to them or you will get the gripes. Opening the packet you ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Kellogg's All Bran Original: Let's go to the forest and collect some cereal! (442 words)

I love healthy cereals and tend to stick to things like bran flakes and weetabix for breakfast. I normally save the sweeter ones for evenings when I want a treat. When I was little I remember my mum tucking into these 'twigs' and I wouldn't go near the stuff but I these days I love them and can't get enough. On opening the box you are met with the same smell as you would find from the regular bran flakes and if you were blindfolded you would probably think that they were the same. When you pour some into a bowl you will see that the cereal resembles a forest of broken twigs that lay upon the floor. They are thin and small and have a rough feel to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Up your fibre intake! (638 words)

I try to vary my breakfast each day as I was advised by my Weight Watchers leader some time ago that eating the same thing day in day out can have a negative effect on weight loss, I have not ascertained how accurate this advice is but have discovered that my diet does actually go better through the day if I've had something interesting in the morning. Now, many of you will say that the words 'interesting' and 'All Bran' should not be used in the same sentence but I urge you to give it a try as it's a much nicer breakfast than you are imagining. Kellogg's All Bran is basically small thin sticks of wheat bran that has been sweetened slightly to make ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Kellogg's All Bran Original: Nothing but Bran (498 words)

In an attempt to eat a bit healthier I have switched to All Bran as my cereal of choice in the mornings now. All Bran is produced by Kellogg's, the American Multinational producer of breakfast foods, etc. The company itself was founded in 1906 by William Keith Kellogg. Their philosophy, "improved diet leads to improved health", is definitely what I am looking at when it comes to healthy eating. Their All Bran can be described as a very high bran, high fibre wheat bran breakfast cereal and marketed as an aid to digestive health. According to an article I read, "Bran is particularly rich in dietary fiber and omegas and contains significant ...  Read the complete review
