I did something a bit silly a few weeks back. I tried Lidl’s own Cornflakes. The reasons for this were 3 fold: 1. Lidl is my local supermarket, and they don’t sell Kellogg’s 2. Little Man Flakes, the own brand, come in gigantic boxes thus lasting longer 3. The own brand is cheap. Super cheap in fact. About 80p for 1000g. Right now, though, in my cupboard at home you can find about 750g of the things. Why? Quite simply, they’re gross. I tried them twice and then had to leave them. They make ok Cornflake cakes (although only if you bung enough chocolate around them), but apart from that they’re good for ... Read the complete review

In this economic climate, despite it seeming to get a bit better, we still like to save as much as possible with our weekly shopping. ONe way we usually do this is by having own brand versions of most of the things we like to eat. Having eaten a lot of Tesco own brand cornflakes recently, we got a packet of these the other week just to check if we were missing out on anything. The thing about Kellogg's is that you are always going to get a top quality product. Whether it's to people's personal taste or not is another matter, as is the cost effectiveness of buying a box of these flakes of corn. What you get with any own brand version is basically a dumbed down, ... Read the complete review

Loving cereals the way I do usually I get shops own offerings due to price. I don't half get through em and they don't work out economical at all and my Mother goes constantly mad at me lol. So last week I was shocked when these turned up as I hadn't had them in years and years! The Packaging: Well I've only ever seen these in 750g, 500g or in 17g boxes which usually come in multi packs of Kellogg's cereals. No matter the box size though on the front there is a picture of a chicken and your told they are Kellogg's Cornflakes and there is an at a glance nutritional chart on there and the size is stated. Other information on the box lists ... Read the complete review

This review is for a 500g box of Kelloggs Cornflakes Kelloggs, originally known as the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flakes Company was established in 1906 by William Keith Kellogg, his 'corn flake' cereal discovered in 1876 was the reason he set up the Kelloggs company, and now, over 130 years later we are still enjoying his golden flakes of corn in millions of homes across the world. For a lot of us, Kelloggs is a name we grew up with. Before supermarkets brought out their own variety of cornflakes our only choice was Kelloggs. Housed in an instantly recognisable white box the Kelloggs famous cockerel is illustrated on the front of the box along ... Read the complete review

Being one of my favourite foods of all time this review may be slightly biased but here goes. I am one of the firm believers in the ideology that breakfast in the most important meal of the day and very rarely miss it. I also eat vast quantities of cereal with cornflakes being the firm favourite. Kellogg's have been making cereals for years and to give credit where credit's due, they know what they're doing. Other companies have tried to replicate the cornflake and very few have succeeded (although a couple have). For those of you who haven't seen or eaten a cornflake (do such people exist? do you know what they're missing?) they are ... Read the complete review
