This review is for a 500g box of Kelloggs Cornflakes

Kelloggs, originally known as the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flakes Company was established in 1906 by William Keith Kellogg, his 'corn flake' cereal discovered in 1876 was the reason he set up the Kelloggs company, and now, over 130 years later we are still enjoying his golden flakes of corn in millions of homes across the world.

For a lot of us, Kelloggs is a name we grew up with. Before supermarkets brought out their own variety of cornflakes our only choice was Kelloggs. Housed in an instantly recognisable white box the Kelloggs famous cockerel is illustrated on the front of the box along with a few flakes of corn. We are reminded that "if it doesn't say Kelloggs on the box...It isnt Kelloggs in the box" and the GDA information is printed.

Each 30g serving will contain:

2.5g Sugars
0.3g Fat
Trace Saturates
0.5g salt

Each cornflake is a rich golden colour and are normally oval in shape approximately 5cm in diameter, served simply in a bowl with cold milk (and sugar if required) the texture of the corn gives a satisfying crunch and fills your mouth with flavour. By the time you get to the bottom of your bowl the cornflakes have taken a nice soggy consistency which is a delicious way to finish your breakfast meal.

Recent television adverts have asked us if we had "forgotten how good they taste" and I think that because there are so many different choices now for breakfast and cheaper varities of cornflakes we sometimes overlook the Kelloggs brand and go for a cheaper option.

Personally for me you cant beat the taste of Kelloggs and other brands fail in comparison. There usually is a few pennies difference between these and supermarket brands, and I would recommend going for Kelloggs if your budget allows. At approx £1.90 for a 500g box you can expect to get 16 x 30g servings

Ingredients are Maize, Barley Malt flavouring, salt, glucose-fructose syrup, niacin, iron, vitamin B6,Riboflavin B2,Thiamin B1, folic acid and Vitamin B12. Allergen information advises that the product contains Barley.
