Advantages: very tasty for breakfast or as a snack

Disadvantages: too expensive to buy regularly

I am not a fan of breakfast. I'm not really a fan of cereal, and if I do eat it, I don't like milk on my cereal. so you won't find me eating these in the morning with a spoon from a bowl all covered in milk to make them sloppy. IF I eat cereal for breakfast I normally have it with fruit juice, and I have to say these don't go too well with fruit juice in my opinion. I do however like these crunchy nut clusters! I like to eat them dry, from a bowl, as a snack in the evening mostly.
The boring bit - Crunchy Nut Clusters come in a box containing a bag filled with the product. You get 500g in the box, and they're expensive! Around £2.68 a box.

Right - more interesting stuff now - the clusters themselves... Each cluster is a mixture of oats, wheat and corn scrunched together with a honey and nut mixture. Looking at the ingredients I can see dried coconut is on the list but I have to say I'd never have known if I'd not looked, along with a few other bits - mostly vitamins and things. So, if you're Wheat intolerant, or have a nut allergy - avoid these! For people who don't suffer with problems like that then go for it (if you can afford them of course).

Eating these with milk is probably a very different experience to eating them dry, but dry is how I like them as I say. These clusters vary in size, so you get some which are small marble sized right up to some which are nearing golf ball sized. Place a cluster in your mouth - a nice large one, but not sooo large that you're not going to be able to chew. The cluster is lumpy and bumpy and bits stick out everywhere. It has a slightly dusty honeyish flavour. Then when you start to chew all the different flavours of corn and nuts, wheat and oats meld together into a really luscious flavour in your mouth. If you've ever eaten flapjacks this is almost the flavour you're getting, but with a bit extra added, and of course a lot more crunch.

The only problems I have with these are - firstly not all of the packet is clusters, smaller bitty bits are in there as well - I don't mind eating them, but you do need a spoon for those bits, specially near the bottom of the packet, fingers just won't do. Secondly as I've mentioned the price is too high for everyday use. I normally get these when my grandmother comes to stay at Christmas as I know she likes them for breakfast, and I can nibble the rest as she never stays long enough to manage a whole packet. Thirdly...nope sorry ran out of negatives at two.

These for me ARE definitely a treat. They're just too expensive to be something I buy on a regular basis, I'd love to give them 5 stars, but because of the price I just can't. I bought the packet I have here because Tesco gave me a coupon with their last clubcard mailing to get them half price - so I did, and I'm rather enjoying my treat!

Summary: Lovely yummy clusters which have loads of flavour to entice you, but are rather over priced sadly.
