Disadvantages: Quite high in sugar

"Ludicrously tasty."

Ludicrously tasty indeed.

I am a great fan of bacon sandwiches and full English breakfasts but have recently decided that I should probably stop consuming my daily allowance of fat and calories before 11am.

I'm not usually a huge fan of cereal as I find them a bit boring and tasteless and, unless they are covered in sugar, I don't tend to opt for them. However, the sugar part kind of defeats the object of my healthy eating programme.

I'm not keen on standard Cornflakes due to the fact that I think they are bland in taste and generally aren't terribly exciting, hence I decided to try Cornflakes with a twist - Crunchy Nut Cornflakes.

I was apprehensive after buying this cereal and was sure that I would return straight away to greasy breakfasts, but I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised.

This cereal has a sweet taste, and although peanuts only make up 7% of the cereal, and honey makes up only 2%, the taste of both is more than evident and makes this cereal delicious. However, the taste is just enough so that it isn't too sickly for 9am munchies. The best part of this breakfast cereal is that it turns the milk sweet and delicious to drink after the cereal has been eate (although I wouldn't recommend doing this at a business breakfast - only in the comfort of your own home!)

This is a filling cereal, which I imagine may be due to its sweet taste, and when I have this cereal for breakfast, I find that I don't feel the need to snack on sugary sweets before lunchtime - in fact I don't feel the need to snack at all.

The cereal looks very similar to standard Cornflakes and hence to me wasn't too enticing at first, but apparently appearances can be deceptive. I was generally very pleased with this cereal - it is tasty, good value and relatively healthy (GDAs given below) - although the sugar content is quite high!
