I love my daily oats (Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Oat Baked Bar)
Member Name: h27gooner
Advantages: Tastes good. Disadvantages: Not for nut allergists. I eat these things everyday. The one I'm eating now is the plain version without fruit bits. It reminds me of a flapjack in that it has the same consistency. It is like a load of nuts bound together with glue so it doesn't snap when you bend it but gently curves until a sticky bit comes off. It tastes quite sweet but isn't as sickly, fattening or bad for your teeth as chocolates. Similarly it isn't hard so to a certain extent it melts in your mouth. It says on the packet that it is made with machinery that may have come into contact with nut products so if you're allergic to nuts then steer clear. It comes in a 50g bar and so you can eat the whole of it in about 3 bites, 5 bites if you nibble or by shoving it in in one go if you're in a rush. These would be better for kids in their lunchbox than some of the rubbish parents like to give them. Summary: A good alternative to chocolate. |
