I got a bit of a bargain in Tesco the other day with these. I don't think they're that expensive at full price, with the newly sized boxes of 12 retailing at £3.19. That means they retail in multipacks for 27p each, a big saving on the individual prices in the shops. You can pay anywhere between 45p and 80p for one of these in a petrol station.

What I love about these is that they're that little bit more healthy than chocolate bars and other junk food snacks, and they actually fill me up and satisfy my hunger at the same time. Apple Nutrigrain bars are thick, oat cereal bars filled with an apple filling that's a little bit like a smooth jam.

The oaty bit is very tasty with a good soft spring to it. It's chewy and that's partly what makes it so satisfying I think. The filling inside is smooth and sweet, so you won't be surprised when I tell you that there are 12g of sugar in one of these bars! That's not a problem if you're on the go and going to burn it off though. And there's only 3.5g of fat which is good as that's about a third of what's in your average chocolate bar.

I think these are tasty and filling little bars to keep handy for when you're hungry on the go. They're not exactly nutritionally sound as far as breakfast substitutes go, but they're considerably healthier and more filling than a chocolate bar is. I think they keep my fuller for longer than standard cereal bars do too.
