I am a great fan of rice crispies and I love them in many forms, including in cereal bars. These bars have a base of yoghurt and are very sweet. However, they only contain 82 calories which is in line with other similar products. The texture is a good one. When you bite them, there are no crumbs or annoying pieces falling off and you can flavour the sweetness in your ...more

Premium Review Kellogg's Rice Krispies Cereal & Milk Bars: Not bad, not bad (333 words)
by - written on 18/11/09 (Very useful, 35 readings)
Rating:

I eat a lot of cereal bars and I like to try different brands. I got these from Asda for 1.70 for 6 of them. Each bar weights 20 gramms. This is the complete info per bar. 14g carbohydrates, 7g of which sugars, 2g fat, 1.5g of which saturates. The packaging seems to be aiming at a young audience with the famous Kellogg's characters on it. It clearly suggests fun and excitement and I think it is cleverly designed to attract buyers of all age. The bars are individually wrapped and it is easy to open them.Once you do that, there is no particular smell or flavour coming out. These bars are made of milk and rice ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Is it breakfast or is it dessert? (600 words)

---Intro--- It's been a while since I've written a cereal bar review, but then it's been a while since I tried a new cereal bar. Although it's not actually the first time I've had the Rice Crispies cereal bars it's only recently that they've been added to my repertoire of low calorie breakfasts to eat at work along with my piece of fruit. --Buying them--- I picked up the box of 6 (20g bars) in Tesco for £1.50, but they're usually £1.69 (at this point in time), so it isn't hard to work out that that's 25p per bar which sounded pretty reasonable to me. What initially attracted me to them is that each one has just 82 calories in it which is slightly ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Kellogg's Rice Krispies Cereal & Milk Bars: My kids breakfast, in bar form! (430 words)
by - written on 21/09/09 (Very useful, 76 readings)

My children have always been fans of cereal and also cereal bars, but these are usually far too expensive for my meagre budget, but after going on my weekly jaunt to Asda, I found that some of the better known cereal bars had been reduced down to £1.00 a box, hence this review. The cereal bars I will now review are - "Kellogs rice crispie bars - cereal and milk bars" These are of course cereal bars made from the afore mentioned cereal (rice kripies), with added milk (calcium) and a delicious layer of yoghurt on the base of the bar. The bars themselves are all individually wrapped and come in a box containing 6 x 20g ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Snap, crackle and pop! (232 words)

Kellogg's Rice Krispies: Cereal and Milk Bars are a bit of a staple in my cupboard, as I'm on a bit of a diet. I'm trying to do the 'special k: slimmer for summer' diet, but as I dislike special k, I am just plumping for a variety of cereal bars of the same nutritional value instead of theirs. And so I decided to try these. In a light blue box, they feature the standard snap, crackle and pop cartoons and large white 'rice krispies' symbol. There is also a picture of the cereal bar featured, with some nutritional info: 'free from artificial colours, hydrogenated fats and source of calcium, iron and 6 vitamins'. You open by lifting the tab and then pull open the ...  Read the complete review
