Rice Krispie Squares, or as they call them in the States Rice Krispie Treats, were a major feature of my childhood. Sticky and gooey and fun to eat, these sweet treats always brought a smile to my face when I was little. And I have to admit, they still do. Kellogs sells their Rice Krispie Squares all made up in blue foil packages. I saw these when I popped into the canteen at work looking for something to satisfy my sugar cravings. However I was on a diet and was trying to avoid falling for a chocolate bar. When I saw these squares I picked one up and was amazed when I read the nutrtional information. These contain only 118 calories per packet - ... Read the complete review

I'm not one for eating breakfast much I must confess. I always prefer to spend the extra 10 minutes in my warm bed rather than get up and make something to eat. The other day however, I had done this but was off to a meeting which would last all morning. As I neared my destination, I could feel that I would definitely need some kind of sustenance otherwise my stomach would growl and rumble and embarrass me in front of the North East's Finest Academic Minds. I quickly pulled into a small old fashioned sort of a petrol station in a one horse backwater of Co. Durham in search of nourishment; it being the morning I was thinking along the lines of a Nutri-Grain ... Read the complete review

I tried one of these this week after using a coupon in a newspaper to get a single one free. I can't say that I've eaten Rice Krispies much, if at all, and wasn't totally sure what to expect with this bar. Rice Krispies are made by Kellog's, a leading brand when it comes to cereal. Since their debut on supermarket shelves in 1928, Krispies have become quite a popular choice, especially amongst the younger consumers. I think they've become very recognisable in part due to the advertising ('snap, crackle & pop'!) and the product line has more recently been extended with the introduction of these Squares. Although sometimes difficult to come ... Read the complete review

I buy these quite regularly from Tesco at around £1.55 for a pack of four. I have always liked these from when they first came out and now I let my girls have these as a treat. They taste nice and sweet with a lovely chewy texture and it isn't too sticky or messy to eat. It's made mainly from toasted rice, syrup and marshmallows. The four Squares come in a shiny blue foily packet. Then they are individually wrapped in the same blue wrapper which keeps the bar nice and fresh. The best before dates usually have about a year after you've bought them. They are to be stored in a cool dry place. There is 118 calories per bar, which isn't too bad as a ... These are a tasty snack that has been around for a few years now. Originally they were aimed at the cereal bar target market; they came out about the time when people were deciding to eat a bar for breakfast instead of a bowl of cereal. Since this revelation rice krispie Squares seem to have been one of the few that have lasted the distance. I think this is due to their versatility as a snack that can be enjoyed as a alternative to breakfast or as a change to eating a chocolate bar. They are also a hit with children; I think this is as they are really sweet obviously down to the marshmallows! Taste wise from my point of view at least they are delicious. ...
