Following a recent health scare, I decided that I had to examine my general lifestyle - after all with the dreaded three-oh knocking on the door, there is no time like the present to try to lose some weight and in so doing perhaps to help my blood pressure by losing weight. I used to always be a cereal for breakfast person, but since moving to Austria had moved over to a continental breakfast with ham and cheese. Not any more – I now have a bowl of Special K before I go into work, and instead of the previous post-work snack (which was certainly more calorific than a bowl of Special K - say some Pringles (the average 50g of Pringles (about a quarter of a tube) ... When I saw Kellogg's Special K Purple Berries in my local Co-Operative for £2 (375g box) I decided to pick a box up as I have recently tried the original Special K and I was pretty pleased with it and because I'm trying to be a little healthier I thought I should try and add some variety to prevent myself getting bored. Just recently I have has the purple berry variety to eat. As with the other special k cereals I ... Read the complete review

Special K have come up trumps here, although Special K on it's own is very nice the addition of the berries gives it a bit of a bite. The Special K itself probably doesn't need much of an introduction but for those who are not acquainted with them they are crunchy rice and wheat flakes. They are by no means the prettiest cereal being that they resemble cardboard after it has been soaked and allowed to dry. Their look however is deceptive since they do taste quite nice with a bit of freezing cold milk and perhaps a very light sprinkle of low cal sugar. They do taste quite different from most other cereal in that there does not seem to be any natural sweetness, this is why ... Read the complete review
