Special K bars.

I often have special K cereal for breakfast one with strawberries or the peach and apricot variety .I like these although find them a little sweet and mix them with bran flakes

When we go out for a walk or going a long distance in the car I usually carry a cereal bar for snacking on they are easy to carry, individually wrapped.
When in Tesco, I spotted an orange box like the Special k cereal box but smaller it contained 6 individually wrapped peach and apricot special k cereal bars. Tesco price is £1.98p for a box thats 33p each not cheap.

Special K bars come in the other varieties of special k too.
The strawberry variety, the apple and pear one the ordinary no added flavour special K, a blueberry one and a chocolate drizzled one newer vanilla one too

Each bar provides:
· 90 kcal
· 18g carbohydrate (9g sugar)
· 1.5g protein
· 1.5g fat (0.7g saturated), making them 7% fat (3% saturated) overall
· 0.5g fibre and has b vitamins and iron added 17%RDA.
- Calories well 90 per bar.


Ok so I tear open the foil packing and disclose a bar that looks like special K squashed up and stuck together with something sweetish. On top is a drizzle? Of yoghurt a small creamy piped swirl that is similar to when I do drizzle painting at school with the children.

I do a sniff test the bar smells a bit peachy with undertones of apricot also smells sweet.

I bite into the bar it is chewy rather than crunchy. The cereal does stay together though not fall to pieces when I bite it.

The taste, well quite sweet a little bit artificial peach and apricot. There are a few pieces of freeze dried fruit in this bar. It tastes quite pleasant, not the best cereal bar I have tasted but by no means the worst one either. I will be happy to have these for a snack when out walking.

These bars are aimed at slimmer.s well they are quite small about 4 inches long not big enough to satisfy this lady
