... compared to plain cereals, mainly because it's marketed as a 'healthy' specialist cereal in my opinion. I don't think it is healthy, but it's a good way to get protein into your diet early in the morning, especially for vegetarians and people like me who would only eat carbs if they could! The cereal is advertised in summer as being part of a slimming challenge - you're supposed to eat two bowls every day for two weeks, plus a third well-balanced meal, and lose weight. I've never tried this, and I don't think I've h...more

Premium Review Kellogg's Special K: My special breakfast! (702 words)

They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I couldn't agree more. When I have had a good breakfast, I find that I have more energy and can concentrate much better at work which is why I very rarely skip this meal. Part of my breakfast routine for many years has been a bowl of Kelloggs Special K and although there have been times when I have been tempted by other cereals I always come back to Special K which I think is now established as my firm favourite. I expect most people are aware of what Special K looks like but if you don't know they are little flakes which look fairly similar to corn flakes but not as golden. The flakes are made ...  Read the complete review

I have been eating healthily now for over 2 years as you all probably no and as any person maintaining an healthy diet knows Breakfast Is the most important meal of the day, Is proven to keep people more alert and active and kick starts you Metabolism. (which is in my books definitely a good thing) Well I've tried many different Cereals and other Recipes for low fat breakfasts and none of them have ever really kept me satisfied for a decent enough period of time and some have just been plain disgusting and tasteless so I was really pleased when I came across Kellogg's Special K cereal in an assortment of many flavours and I suppose not to bad a price I snapped ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Kellogg's Special K: Better than boring Cornflakes (287 words)

This has been my regular breakfast cereal recently, taking over top spot from Kellogg's Fruit and Fibre. I decided to change as I was getting a bit fed up having currents with my breakfast everyday. Kellogg's Special K is promoted as "deliciously crunchy multi-grain flakes made with rice and wheat". It's a ready to eat cereal that requires no cooking, you just add milk. It is a tasty breakfast cereal and I certainly prefer it to boring cornflakes. It contains less than 3 % fat and is high in added nutrients such as 6 essential B vitamins, vitamin C, D, and iron. As far as my research goes (reading the side of the packets), it contains more iron per ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review You May Be Special BUT YOU AINT SUGAR PUFFS (1071 words)

As I?ve probably mentioned? oooh, at least a hundred times, I am on a mad healthy eating mission. I?m eating copious amounts of fruit and veg, drinking the recommended 2 litres of water a day and exercising like it?s illegal. Yes, ladies and gents, I?m trying to lose weight. One of my biggest downfalls used to be breakfast cereal. I love and adore Sugar Puffs, and I am happy eating them for all my daily meals. I was in serious danger of becoming the Honey Monster. I had the size, I was just lacking the attractive orange fur. Obviously being a honey monster without the fur I just looked fat, so they had to go. (Sob) The calories were too much but what was I to do ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Kellogg's Special K: Especially for you.... (724 words)

So, cereal is never going to be the most interesting thing in the world to review, but please bear with me, I'm going to do my best! I really struggle to eat breakfast, and I always have done. Eating before 11 o'clock is an issue for me and just doesn't seem natural. I know that the situation is the same for many others, whether it is a time issue, or simply that you can't stomach food first thing in the morning (for me, it's a bit of both), but we all know that you are supposed to have "breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and supper like a pauper". Breakfast is the most important meal of the day apparently, so I thought that I would try ...  Read the complete review
