Special K is advertised as the low fat cereal, you may well have seen it when they offer the 2 week swimsuit challenge. Aswell as the original version, they now offer a variety of flavours such as Oats and Honey, Red Berries and Chocolate Chip. A 500g box of the original Special K retails for around £2.89, but is currently on offer in Tescos for £2.

I bought this cereal because I am on the weight watchers programme, I was allowing myself 1 and a half or 2 points for my breakfast but nothing was filling me up and I was finding myself craving a snack by 10 o'clock. The main ingredients are rice and wheat. Upon first impression I thought this cereal would taste like cardboard-how can something that is remotely good for you taste good?! However, I'm pleased to say I was wrong. Although the cereal looks quite boring, it tastes delicious! No matter how long you leave it in the bowl for the flakes dont go soggy which is brilliant in my eyes. They have a very nice taste to them which cant really be described but the flakes are crunchy and taste divine with a splash of milk. I find that this is the only cereal that fills me up until lunch.

A 30g serving contains more than 50% of a number of vital vitamins. When served with semi skimmed milk, a bowl provides just 171 calories and 2.5grams of fat (1.5g which saturates).

It is suitable for vegetarians.

I am very impressed with this product and will certainly continue to buy it.
