Advantages: Have helped me become healthier, and lose weight.
Disadvantages: none what so ever.
I have been dieting since Christmas and a key factor to losing weight is to eat healthily, this is done by eating three meals a day breakfast, lunch and tea. I have never been one for eating first thing in the morning, as I always seem to be running late so breakfast is the last thing on my mind.
When I started at weight watchers I was told that not eating these set meals a day can be a major factor in my weight gain, as my body was storing whatever I ate because it was getting starved all day, so I did as I was told and started to eat breakfast, lunch and tea.
At first I managed to eat cereals or toast in the morning, but some days I found this so hard to do as I just didn't have the time, so when I went on my next visit to Tesco I picked up, these fabulous Kellogg's Nutri -Grain cereal bars.
KELLOGGS CEREAL BARS
The Kellogg's Nutri-Grain bars were on offer when I was looking for a breakfast alternative, they cost me 3.00 for two boxes, but normally they cost 1.79 per box.
Each box consists of six individually foil wrapped bars, they are approximately 5 inches long and 2 inches wide. Each bar is made from oats baked in syrup, this middle of the bar is filled with a rich strawberry flavour filling.
The reason why I like these is because they compensate for my breakfast, and they are only 205 calories per bar. So I am able to stick to my diet with out to much change or hastle.
INGREDIENTS
These bars contain, Sugar, Syrup, Rolled oats, Vegetable oil, strawberries, Glucose, Wheat flour, Skimmed milk, Golden syrup, Iron, Folic acid and the vitamins B6 and B12.
OPINION
These really are very filling for a breakfast bar, but you could even eat them in between meals so I feel they are ideal in any girl's handbag.
They are really nice, chewy and you can even feel the oaty texture as you eat it, I think this is why you find these bars filling.
I have been eating these as a breakfast substitute since early February, and I have to say I could not go without them, I cannot believe that I didn't eat a thing until tea time prior to my first weight watcher experience. Now I understand that my body needs three meals a day, I can see why I have gained the weight.
I feel like I am actually eating more now than I did before I started, but the funny thing is I have lost just under two stone, since the New Year so I am doing something right.
I am now very happy with my weight and I am just maintaining it now, so if you are like I used to be then try this three meals a day thing, and even try these fantastic bars, I eat these for breakfast and lunch along with a sandwich.
TOP TIP
Kelloggs Nutri Grain have newly released a new brand chewy oaties, these are similar to the bars, but they come i a crisp style packet and they are small bite size portions.
Summary: Great alternative to cereals or toast.
