Advantages: Mouthwatering golden crisps

Disadvantages: Bit on the expensive size

I love to munch on a nice bag of crisps whilst watching TV on an evening and there's no denying these are the royalty of potato snacks (well in my opinion anyway). Whilst food shopping last week I went down the crisp and snack isle and this bag of Kettle Chips practically screamed my name "Buy me buy me!" they pleaded.. Well it would have been rude not to?

The Claim~
These are hand cooked potato chips and are cooked using the best potatoes in small batches. They are seasoned with great tasting combinations of ingredients and all this adds up to "naturally crunchy and tasty chips, each one a little different from the last" so the packet promises.

So are they all talk, or are these the finest of crisps..?

The appearance~
On opening the packet you are greeted with very crisp looking potato chips. They have an individual look and there aren't two that look the same that's for sure. They are quite golden in colour with flecks of black on them (the peppercorns) and certainly look very appetising.

The smell~
The first thing you notice about these crisps or 'chips' is the salty aroma coming from the bag. Now these are sea salt and black peppercorn flavour but the salt is the more dominent smell emerging from the packet on first opening them.

The price and packaging~
Best get this out of the way. These particular crisps are a 150g bag and cost anywhere of £1 upwards from most supermarkets. They have a classy look about them - a sleek black matte colour with whitey/grey lettering on the front and all the relevant information on the back.
The calorie count on these is 188 per 40g serving - so don't eat them all in one go if you are on a diet!

The taste~
Okay to the important bit - the taste test (*licks lips*)!
Now these are most indeed a cut above the rest when it comes to crisps but the first thing you notice as you take one out the packet is just how greasy they are. This isn't off putting in anyway as I still managed to eat the entire bag (all in the name of Dooyoo!). The actual crisps are, erm..very crispy and you can tell there is something special about them as they taste lovely.
Each crisp is golden and sprinkled with just the right amount of salt and pepper resulting in a moreish desire to finish the pack - whether you want to or not. Is it just me or do the 'folded' crisps always taste nicer?

Miscellaneous~
*Kettle chips only ever use sunflower oil
*They are free from artificial colours and flavours
*They are suitable for vegetarians and coeliacs

Summery~

Summary: Yummy!
