Kinder Surprises have always been quite over priced but what do you expect for "chocolate, a toy and a surprise".

I Had my first kinder Surprise when I was about 8 years old and I was fascinated by the whole concept, you got a small hollow egg made with two different chocolates, milk chocolate on the outside and white chocolate on the inside and I couldn't figure it out and on top of all that they had managed to get a toy in the middle of each one. Indeed kinder eggs where really quite magical.

Me and my brother collected the toys from the middle and we had hundreds, my favorite of all were some mini trains that were also crayons. A lot of the toys were quite rubbish but you had to build most of them so that was always fun and most of them had stickers you put on yourself. The toys always came in yellow or orange pods that were nearly impossible to open and it added to the excitement of wanting to know what was inside.

Anyway a few weeks ago I was at the checkout in my local supermarket and the Kinder surprises caught my eye and the child in me couldn't resist. It had been over 15 years since I last had one so being greedy I bought two.

They were rubbish, the chocolate wasn't particularly nice but had a slightly slimy taste and the toys were appalling with no building or sticking involved, they were worse than cheap christmas cracker novelties. I was very disappointed and they were still expensive for what you got.

I will not be buying another one, well not for the next 15 years anyway.

Summary: I would spend my money on a nice bar of cadburys!
