Advantages: Everything

Disadvantages: None

I have been on a mission to find some good pre cut, wholemeal bread and the task hasn't been an easy one. We've had cardboard sandwiches, playdough toast and stale soilders! I've tried most of the shops own brands and most of the brand names and I have finally settled on this one.

It's made by the well-known bread makers Kingsmill and you can buy it in thick or medium sliced. I usually prefer medium sliced because for a start it's less calories per slice and if you make a sandwich with thick sliced bread, you have more bread in your mouth than filling.

The loaf costs £1.20 for one but at the moment Asda seem to have a long running offer of 3 for £3 and Sainsburys are doing them at 2 for £2. Some of you may wonder how on earth you will use three loaves before it all goes stale so you will be happy to know that you can freeze them and they come out of the freezer as fresh as they went in.

The reason I love this bread and have stuck with it is because:

1) It has a nice malty taste that is subtle but just enough. I don't like these breads that taste really strongly and overwhelm the ingredients that you put inside a sandwich or on toast (I make an exeption for tiger bread!)

2) It comes out of the packet soft and fresh and it takes a few days for it to start showing signs of going off. I can't stand it when you open a loaf of bread (Hovis is a prime example!) and it's stale before you start.

3) The bread does't break when you spread margarine on it. This is one of the most annoying things to me. I don't actually have butter on mine but I make a lot of sandwiches for my other half so when he's moaning because his filling is falling out of the gaps, I am stressed! I don't get that stress with this bread.

4) Even the crusts are fresh. I loooooovvvvveeee a good crust and will always eat them first so they have to be good and thankfully with this bread I don't find that I am chewing on a bit of cardboard.

This bread toasts well but it is also great for sandwiches. I like the fact that 2 slices of this bread is all of my recommended daily allowance of wholegrain and that it has no artificial colours or flavourings.

This bread is a winner with the family and although my hubby was a big white bread fan, I have now converted him to wholemeal and he loves him which is great because it's so much better for you.

Kingsmill are running a great offer at the moment to promote the new Wallace and Gromit movie. On each loaf there is a token and once you have collected enough you can send them off and you will recieve a product of your choice, all you need to do is pay £1 for postage. I have recieved a pair of oven gloves and I am about to send off for a pencil tin filled with goodies. Next on my list is the lunchbox but if you're a hardcore Wallace and Gromit fan you can save 12 tokens to purchase the limited edition toast rack. I love the fact that I'm actually buying my normal product and getting the chance to recieve some cool products. I normally always buy the shops own brand stuff so this is a nice little bonus!

If you have trouble with bread then I'd recommend that you try this one. It's definately my favourite out of all of the wholemeal breads on the shelf.

Summary: A great bread for all the family.
