Advantages: Good chocolate.

Disadvantages: Has to be paid for.

EDIT, I am grateful to Torr, for noticing I used the wrong ingredients list.
This review is on the packs of nine, comprising of two fingered bars of "Fine dark Kit Kats", although previously these were made in fours.

Originally made by Rowntrees at their York factory, they were bought out by Nestles in 1988. In the USA they were made by Hershey;s, the company which became famous over here during the war. The first Kit Kat cost Tuppence, but that was back in 1936. The idea of a biscuit with chocolate covering, was thought up by one of Rowntree's employees. It was launched as the Rowntree's Chocolate Crisp, and the famous name of Kit Kat was introduced in 1937.
Trivia:-
A massive 3.2 Billion Kit Kats are made by Nestles every year.

The traditional red wrapper of the original, briefly became blue between 1945 and 1947. This was as a result of milk shortages after the end of World War 2, the milk chocolate coating was suspended, and a dark chocolate used instead during that period.

Nestles insist that the bars are spelt KITKAT (one word) We spell it as 2 words (go on, ask some one)

UK Kit Kat stocks are stored in 2 large warehouses in York, which have a total floorspace of 186,500 square feet, with a combined capacity of 37,500 pallets.
Nestles, we used to be pronounce it Nestles, as in vessels.

Nestle Rowntree go back as far as 1725, when they opened a shop in Walmgate, York.
Specialist vehicles, which are equipped with snow chains and diesel heaters are used to ship Kit Kats from the depot in Scunthorpe, to Russia and the other cold regions during the winter.

Each bar consists of three layers of crème-filled wafer biscuit, covered in an outer layer, of rich dark chocolate. Each finger can be easily snapped from the bar, one at a time.
The packaging is very good, and being foil, it tends to keep the product fresh. The only concern is that aluminium foil does not rot down, it just stays in the landfill site for many many years.

The name of the chocolate, Kit Kat tend to call it fine dark chocolate, plain as it used to be called. The trend is also followed by all the major chocolate manufacturers.
As for the taste, this does taste like very good quality chocolate, exactly like it should.
In my opinion the flavour was very good, bittersweet, rich, and slightly "nutty". It smells very good too.
The price was £1.20 in my local supermarket if memory serves me right.

The boring bit:-
Kit Kat bars made for the UK contain:-
Dark chocolate (Sugar, unsweetened chocolate) cocoa butter, milk ingredients (Yes Milk, even in the dark ones), Soya Lechithin, whey flour, butterfat, Palm oil, wheat flour, sugar, vegetable fat, cocoa mass, yeast, raising agent (sodium bicarbonate), salt, calcium sulfate (a.k.a Gypsum), flavouring. At November 2006 the UK - The 4 finger Kitkat contained 233 dietary calories (kcal) (975 kilojoules).

website is here :- http://www.nestle.co.uk Have a look, it is full of interesting stuff. You may be surprised to see how large the range is.
No prizes for thinking about availability, these can be bought almost everywhere.

This company has had some very good adverts over the years,
The original Kit Kat is good, and this variation isn't a replacement, just an addition to the range.
Personally, I hope it's here to stay.

The old slogan was "Have a break, have a Kit Kat".

Summary: I like them a lot.
