Advantages: Only 106 calories per bar.

Disadvantages: None for me.

Kit Kat Dark
I love milk chocolate, but for some reason when it comes to biscuits I prefer them to be covered in dark chocolate. Since the new year I have been following the slimming world food optimising plan (it's not a diet?!). However, I have to have my daily chocolate fix. My sin (syn) of choice is Nestle Kit Kat dark - the two finger bar.

Each bar contains only 106 calories, but 6.1g of fat. This means I use 5 of my 15 syns a day on this quick pleasure. Is it worth it? Well I think so...

The packaging looks almost identical to the ordinary Kit Kat. The well known red and white KIT KAT logo is set on a red and dark brown background. Black writing on a silver panel warns you that these are covered DARK chocolate.

The packet I purchased contained 9 individual bars. It is wrapped in the traditional silver foil and then has an outer wrapper of dark brown with a picture of dark chocolate. Nigella Lawson would probably describe this wrapper as 'seductive'! There is also a reminder of the fact that this bar contains 'only106 calories'. I think Nestle are almost trying to market this as a healthy bar - who are they trying to kid?

The taste test....

Open the foil..... snap the bar in half.... inhale the chocolaty aroma.....and bite.....
Mmmm! The smooth, dark chocolate is intense but goes perfectly with the sweet, crunchy wafer biscuit. Pure heaven.

I like this because it's not too sweet. It satisfies my chocolate cravings without making me want more (well most of the time!) Dark chocolate is also better for you as it contains iron and less sugar.

Nestle seem to be brining out all sorts of varieties of Kit Kat at the moment from mint to caramel, but my favourite by a long way is the Kit Kat Dark.

Cost - often on offer - I paid £1 for 9.

Summary: Not to every ones taste - a more refined chocolate bar!!
