Advantages: Very satisfying taste, widely available, great with tea
Disadvantages: Not cheap, the typical bar is too thin
"Have a break have a kitkat" this infectious slogan is one I have not been able to shake loose since I first noticed kit kat's over a decade ago. The brand itself however has been going for over 70 years and it is very easy to understand why.
In their customary packaging of red and white, Kit Kat's come in one of two sizes and these are the regular packs which include 4 fingers of chocolate, or the mini ones which contain 2. The 4 finger bar is available to buy in most shops, while the latter is only available in the bags of Kit Kat's.
The bar itself is made from wafer biscuits which are coated in milk chocolate. They have a very sweet taste as you would expect from the chocolate but the biscuity taste perfectly compliments the chocolate. There is a nice lightness to the taste and it never threatens to overwhelm your taste buds and never threatening that sickly feeling of some chocolate bars.
You can break off each finger individually and look to savour the taste, or just devour them, the first is very difficult to maintain. At the same time though, while their light taste is very appealing, it's very difficult to get full up from them, in fact it's almost impossible to do that and I have certainly tried!.
Hence the reason why Nestle the manufacturer of this brand have also brought out the Kit Kat chunky which offers exactly the same ingredients but is a much chunkier big bar version of this chocolate brand.
Unfortunately as with most chocolate, you will typically be paying 40p or more and so I recommend buying these in the multi packs. While not my favourite chocolate, for some reason, these taste particularly good with a cup of tea.
Excellent chocolate!
Summary: Wafer chocolatey goodness
