Advantages: Perfect for a snack.

Disadvantages: None but the cost.

Here goes then.

Kit Kats, a review on these Fine dark Kit Kats, you have all heard of them, but there must be some people out there who have yet to try them.

Originally produced by Rowntrees at the York factory, these were bought out by Nestle in '88. In the states, these were made by the Hershey company, this company became famous in the UK, during World War 2. The first Kit Kats cost Tuppence in old money, that was in 1936. The theory of a biscuit coated with chocolate, was thought up by a Rowntree's employee. This was originally called the Rowntree's Chocolate Crisp, and the famous name of Kit Kat was thought up in 1937.

3.2 Billion Kit Kats are produced every year.
The ordinary red wrapper became a blue colour between 1945 and 1947. This was due to the recipe changing, because of milk shortages after the end of the War, the milk chocolate coating was suspended, and dark chocolate used instead.

Nestles spell it KITKAT (one word) We spell it as two words Kit Kat.

Nestles, used to be pronounced as in vessels.
Nestle Rowntree date from 1725, when they opened a shop in Walmgate, York.

Specialist vehicles equipped with snow chains and diesel heaters are used to deliver the Kit Kats to cold climates.

Each bar has three layers of crème-filled wafer biscuit, covered in an outer layer of dark chocolate. Each finger can be snapped from the bar one at a time.

As for the taste, it tastes exactly like good quality chocolate, just like it should.

In my opinion the flavour was very good, bittersweet, rich, yet slightly nutty. It smells nice too.

The price was £1.19 in the local supermarket if memory serves me correctly.

The boring stuff -
Kit Kat bars made for the UK contain:-
Milk chocolate (66%) (sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa mass, dried skimmed milk, whey powder, butterfat, vegetable fat, lactose, emulsifier (soya lecithin), flavouring), wheat flour, sugar, vegetable fat, cocoa mass, yeast, raising agent (sodium bicarbonate), salt, calcium sulfate (a.k.a Gypsum), flavouring. At November 2006 the UK 4 finger Kitkat contained 233 dietary calories (kcal) (975 kilojoules).

If you have any questions about nutrition, feel free to ring Nestle on 00800 6378 5385 office hours only.

Take a look, it is full of interesting stuff. You may be surprised to see how large the range actually is!

No prizes for thinking about the availability, they can be bought everywhere in the World.

Both milk chocolate, and plain, or dark chocolate Kit Kat bars, bars, are wrapped in aluminium foil and paper, this keeps the contents fresh. They do melt if left in the sun of course, otherwise they are perfect for picnics.
In my opinion the flavour was very good, bittersweet, rich, and slightly "nutty". It smells good too.

It will always get my personal recommendation. Like all the best things, it is far beter if you have to wait for a while, that is a promise!

Summary: A well recommended product.
