This is not just an ordinary kitkat, it's a dark kitkat! (KitKat Fine Dark)

Advantages: A nice change to the usual bar

Disadvantages: not great if you don't like dark choc?

Ooh, I do love a bit of dark chocolate every now and again. Especially when it is in the form of one of my favourite choc bars!

It seems that I am not the only one who feels this way as kitkat was voted product of the year 2008 in a consumer survey at product innovation.

The kitkat dark bar is in exactly the same layout and packaging as the standard 4 bar kit except it is made with dark chocolate (bet you couldn't have guessed that one!)

The best thing about it though, is that my son doesn't like dark chocolate so he can't pull his usual trick of scoffing his bar then begging for some of mine!

The only problem I find with this one is that the bars don't always snap directly down the lines and sometimes break in to the next bar. I think this is because this choc is slightly harder than the milk version.

The bar has 236 calories and 13.3g of fat if you are interested. I'm sure everyone has tasted a kitkat at one point or another so I won't ramble on and describe every tiny detail, I will just share some interesting ways to eat the bars.

A while back kitkat added promotional wrapping giving hints of how to eat the bars (similar to the cadburys creme egg tips). There was The Nibbler, in which you bite all the chock off the sides then eat the wafer last. The Big Chill, apparently kitkats taste great when chilled, although I think a lot of chocolate can benefit from this. And my favourite way.....

Best done while 'taking a break' and having a kitkat with a cuppa. First you bite both ends off the bar, then insert it in to the cuppa, and drink through it!

Sounds icky but it really is delicious! It takes a few seconds to come through but when it does it is lovely. You can't do it for long though or the kitkat will turn to mush.

Try it sometime, It's fun!
