Advantages: Gorgeous taste
Disadvantages: Too moreish
The Kitkat dark is just awful, awful because it makes me want more and more of it, and I might end up as round as I am tall if it has it's way!
Lets get the nutritional bits and pieces out of the way first.
Per 4 finger bar we have
236 kcal
2.5g of protein
25g of carbohydrate
13.3g of fat
So that makes the bar 55% carbohydrates and almost 30% fat, but what the heck it's a chocolate bar, you're not going to be eating it if you're worried about your weight. As far as allergies go there's nothing on the pack to warn about nuts or anything similar, but obviously it does have milk/lactose in it.
But onward to the taste. Well if you hadn't gathered by my first sentence, the taste is heavenly! I'm a huge lover of dark chocolate and the chocolate on this Kitkat is perfect, it's not bitter at all (a problem many people have with dark chocolate) and it's layered on the Kitkat nice and thick.
The wafer biscuits are nice and light and crispy. I'm not really a biscuit lover, it's rare I eat anything with biscuits in, but the wafer biscuits in Kitkats are just right, not heavy like most biscuits, but filling enough to last you until your next meal time.
The only problem with this bar is that it's too moreish. I can get through all four biscuits in 2 shakes of a lambs tail, and it still leaves me wanting more. Not because I'm still peckish, but because the taste is so lovely (and I'm greedy!).
The other good thing about Kitkats, is that the chocolate is thick enough that it will withstand a dunking into a cup of tea.
It's a pity that it took Nestle so long to bring out the Dark Kitkat, because I can honestly say I think it's the nicest chocolate bar I have ever had.
Summary: Watch your waistline!
