Advantages: Delicious

Disadvantages: None

I've just bought a 9-pack of these two-fingered orange KitKats from my local Co-op. I cannot remember whether I've had these before, but I just couldn't resist. My chocolate cravings were going off the charts! Anyway, I've always enjoyed a KitKat and although my passion for them tends to lean towards the Chunky ones, I am still more than happy to partake of these delectable nibbles.

For a start, as a 9-pack they are reasonably light, so will not add any burden to anyone's shopping bags. This is particularly relevant for me because I either walk or take the bus. You also know that you will be able to treat yourself to 9 cups of tea or coffee and relax with an excellent chocolate bar. There's nothing like the crackle of the foil and then the snap of the bars as you break it in two. Lovely. Oh, I'm getting carried away.

To the serious matter at hand...

What is an orange KitKat?
Well, it is a standard chocolate KitKat biscuit (which are essentially "two cripsy wafer fingers" as described on the packet), covered with orange flavoured milk chocolate.

What of the packaging?
Each two-fingered biscuit is wrapped in foil and partially wrapped with a slim cover, so the foil is still visible along the length of the biscuit. This particular version has the KitKat logo on the left hand side and a picture of oranges on the right. I have to admit that I originally thought the picture contained lemons, but that's just my eyesight! It makes this item appear fresh, new, and inviting. For the weight-conscious, Nestle has made a prominent reminder of how 'healthy' the biscuit can be in comparison to other items, with the line "only 107 calories".

Does it taste good?
The taste is, of course, typically KitKat, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover a lovely subtle taste of orange. It wasn't overpowering or non-existent. I think it works because it is orange-flavoured chocolate rather than actually having orange pieces in it.

Recommendable?
Yes. Perfect for a light snack on its own or with a cuppa. I think Nestle have done well with the packaging, because it makes them tempting.

Summary: A delightful treat!
