Advantages: Better than the original

Disadvantages: Two fingers aren't enough

I am a huge fan of flavoured chocolate especially orange which is why I picked up a packet of these when they were on offer in Sainsbury's a few days a go.

What are they?
Kit Kats are basically thin, rectangular sticks of chocolate with layers of wafer through the middle. You can get them in sticks of two and four and they also come in a chunky version although these orange ones only come in sticks of two and there is a limited edition orange one out at the moment.

The smell
When you opened the foil that the Kit Kat is wrapped in, you get this almighty whiff of orange chocolate which makes me want to shove the whole thing in my mouth there and then but that would be stupid because I would barely taste it and not be able to write this review!

The texture.
No one can deny that one of the best feelings in the world is snapping off a stick of Kit Kat and hearing that lovely 'Crunch' (OK maybe not). It's even better when you snap the stick in half on top of that.

There are two ways of eating it; you can either have it with a brew and suck all of the chocolate off and be left with a complete mess of a wafer or you can do it the way I prefer to. Nibble at both ends which have around half an inch of just Nestle chocolate and then demolish the rest of the stick very quickly taking little bites.

When you bite into the Kit Kat you will feel the crunch between your teeth then as you continue chewing the chocolate melts into the wafer and everything goes a little soggy and sticks to your mouth.

The taste
The Kit Kat has a nice creamy, orangey taste to it and somehow the wafer adds to this and makes the whole thing really work.

The best thing about the Kit Kat is when you are eating one rather innocently expecting to hit the wafer and the wafer never comes! You have a whole bar of just Nestle chocolate! It's only happened to me once but I can tell you this, 'I felt as if I'd won the Golden ticket to Willy Wonkas factory'. It was amazing! I savoured every mouth and I bet I looked like a cat that got the cream. In reality it was rubbish. I felt sick when I had finished because I find Nestle chocolate sickly but that didn't stop me from teasing just about everyone that was sat around me. For once in my life I was the envy of all my friends! I think if an orange one without the wafer would be amazing but I have yet to experience that!

I do think that these are by far much better than the original bar and hope that it does stick around. It just give them that extra edge and the zesty orange shakes up your tastebuds for a second or two.

Over all the Kit Kat is a classic lunch box biscuit and I think it'll be around for ever. I expect they will be in heaven when we make it their and there is no doubt in my mind that God takes one in his lunchbox every day.

Summary: A good idea from Nestle
