Advantages: Tasty
Disadvantages: Need more biscuits
I'm a big fan of chocolate, as most people are and I also love biscuits so what could be better than a pot of chocolate with some biscuits? Well perhaps a bigger pot of chocolate but anyway it is a wonderful snack. I was wondering around Tesco and looking for something a bit different to eat for once when I came across KP Choc Dips Original. I paid £0.79 for 3 packs of 32g which I think is a good deal and it means that I have enough to share with my husband. They can be found in the biscuit aisle of most Tesco stores but I'm sure they are also available in other major supermarkets.
These pots are dark blue with a chocolate coloured blob in the shape of a human holding a biscuit in the middle, it has the name "Choc Dips" written across the pot in large yellow letters and the KP logo is in the top left hand corner. On the back of the pot are the ingredients and nutritional values. The pots are circular, the same shape as a Pot Noodle Pot is but a little bit smaller. The pot is sealed with foil to help keep it fresh.
Ingredients:
Wheat Flour, Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Sugar, Dried Whole Milk, Lactose, Dried Whey, Dried Skimmed MIlk, Fat Reduced Cocoa Powder, Dextrose, Partially Inverted Sugar Syrup, Raising Agents (Ammonium Bicarbonate, Sodium Bicarbonate), Salt, Cocoa Butter, Emulsifier (Soya Lecithin)
This means that they contain Contains: Milk, Soya, Wheat, Gluten and may contain Nuts & Sesame Seeds. So if you sufer from any of these allergies then you should avoid this food.
Each pot contains:
Calories:
170kcal, 9% of your GDA
Sugar:
10.1g, 11% of your GDA
Fat:
9.5g, 14% of your GDA
Saturates:
3.4g, 17% of your GDA
Salt:
0.3g, 4% of your GDA
As you can see these really aren't the healthiest of snacks as they are very high in fat and sugar so you should only eat them every once in a while however they are great as an occasional treat which everybody deserves.
Inside the pot you will find 8 biscuits which are long and thin and a little pot of chocolate. The idea of this snack is that you can dip the biscuits into the chocolate and therefore have them as chocolaty or as plain as you want to. This is obviously a lot of fun especially for kids but adults can enjoy it too, you're never too old. The biscuits are very sweet and go nicely with the smooth creamy chocolate, it is overall a rather sweet snack but not too sweet and the chocolate is just perfect. The only problem I ever have with these is that there are never enough biscuits to eat all the chocolate but you can always eat the rest with a spoon. 8 out of 10 as they really do need more.
Summary: Great snack but unhealthy
