... glory. In my local Lidl, there is a huge section in the middle of the shop which is completely devoted to greengrocery. Apart from some pre-packed tomatoes and boxed strawberries, everything is on a serve-yourself basis and the bags provided are all paper, which I really like....I hate plastic bags. I was overjoyed to buy a huge biodegradable string bag of extremely high quality tomatoes for 45p - altogether there were 18 tomatoes inside the string bag, and I prefer them to be packed that way rather than in plastic ca...more

Premium Review Lidl Mr Choc Mini Jaffa Cakes: GOOD MINI SNACK (281 words)

I like Jaffa Cakes in all forms, and pick these up from Lidl most times when I am these. They cost 67p for a 100g pack, which isn't that cheap when you think about it. You can get a double pack of Calue Jaffa Cakes from Tesco for 38p and there is more eating in them, but these are handy for my hubby to take for his break at work, and I guess I would feel a bit less concious pulling this pouch from my bag and not a whole 12 pack of full sized Jaffa Cakes. These are in a little shiney paper pouch. It is wider at the bottom and gets thinner at the top. To open these you just pull apart the sealed bit at the top and this should open no problem. Not great to close ...  Read the complete review

One of my colleagues brought a packet of Lidl's Mr Choc Mini Jaffa Cakes into work the other day and suggested I try 1 - and boy do I wish I hadn't! I honestly think their addictive!! I must admit that I have always been a fan of 'simply the best' ever McVities Jaffa Cakes but these definitely come a close second. There is always something more appealing about bitesize food too for me. Perhaps it's psychological as I am always concerned about what I eat etc. I can just imagine the battle goin on in my head - 'should I? shouldn't I? course I should - I can always work it off at the gym right? Sometimes - I'll admit it - I just need that ...  Read the complete review

I have been trying to write a few reviews on products from some of the "cheaper" supermarkets recently, mainly because said supermarkets seem to get quite a hard time of it by many. I would say that on the whole the products are very good, (in my experience at least) with of course a few exceptions, but they are generally worth a bash! :-D I recently bought a small bag of "Mister Choc" mini jaffa cake-type biscuits from my Local Lidl store. They were only 69 pence, but I find that the price of this product fluctuates a little from time to time, so they may well be a different price the next time I'm there! The packaging isn't ...  Read the complete review
