... packs, but I think they're good to have in now and then for a change. Never having had veggie sausages before, I was unsure what to expect, but they just looked like normal sausages. I would have liked to see them a little bit bigger, as the packaging is somewhat on the large size for what you get, but maybe that's just me being greedy! (I also have a hatred of freezer products that come in bigger boxes than necessary due to lack of freezer space). I threw away the box so I don't remember the exact nutritional in...more

Premium Review Linda McCartney Sausages: Meat free sausages (385 words)

I usually buy Quorn products as they are low in fat and taste nice. However, when doing my weekly shop a few weeks back these were on offer for just £1. I was sceptical-when I was younger I hated Linda McCartney products but I decided to buy them anyway and we finally got round to having them last night. The sausages come in a box of 6 so they are perfect for serving 2 or 3 people. The box weighs 300g and usually retails at the £1.88 mark. They can be found in the freezer section of the supermarket. The box is the same as the one shown in the picture above and I felt that the box looked quite good and gave the impression that the product inside was of a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Hello Meat-eater im a vegetarian sausage! (592 words)

Having read an article in my beloved Olive magazine (earlier review has that covered) about how meat consumption has increased and therefore Soy consumption has also upped which is having a massive impact on deforestation it got me thinking. I am a meat-eater, always have been and always will be (sorry veggies, don't hold it against me!) however that does not mean I have to solely consume so much of it. I resolved to cut down, the first step has been to have vegetarian packed lunches, a simple change but that's a third of my meals which hopefully will save some trees and as the other half was away tonight I decided to try a vegetarian dinner. Linda McCartney ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Linda McCartney Sausages: Linda McCartney's Vegetarian sauasges (737 words)

Linda McCartney Vegetarian Sausages **The Product** These sausages caught my eye in the supermarket freezer section. I have been a vegetarian for most of my adult life and as a rule I avoid what I term 'pretend meat'. After all I do not choose to eat meat, so why would I want to eat imitation meat products? However, there are times when a quick easy meal is required and with this in mind I bought a packet of Linda McCartney Vegetarian Sausages to try. The Linda McCartney brand is well known among vegetarian people and in recent years the range of vegetarian dishes she made famous have been re-developed and revitalized to appeal to todays ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Live and Let Fry! (221 words)

Ah, Linda MCartney and her vegetarian range... when these were launched in the early nineties there was a farm-fresh style advert with a crow singing her name. The sadly passed away wife of an ex-Beatle, famous for healthy and organic vegetarian living is surely the perfect endorser for a decent meat substitute. And these really are a decent meat substitute. I'm not vegetarian and I do like the traditional banger sausage, yet eating these is a sensation in themself. It doesn't taste like pork or beef but has that slightly mushroomy, tofuey taste. However the sausages are flavoured well and I've always quite enjoyed the taste of Quorn, beancurd and the other ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Linda McCartney Sausages: Who needs a silly meat sausage?! (408 words)
by - written on 20/05/09 (Very useful, 32 readings)

Linda McCartney Sausages are one of the most widely available vegetarian sausages on the market. They're available in most supermarkets, including Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsburys and Asda. They cost around £1.89 for 6 sausages (300g) from the freezer compartment. You need to keep them in the freezer and cook from frozen, but if for some reason you thaw them out they're fine to use from chilled. You can grill, fry or bake them in the oven, so they're quite versatile. They take from 10-20 minutes to cook depending on the method used. The sausages are of a good size, nice and fat, and have a lovely meaty flavour, which isn't overpowering. They don't have ...  Read the complete review

Not too spicy, easy to cook, suitable for vegetarians and vegans, and they taste fantastic. Maybe they're too yummy?!

Can be cooked several ways, suitable for vegetarians and vegans, and low in fat and calories. They taste and smell horrible! (In my opinion)
