The box clearly displays the nutritional value of having 2 sausages. 8.8g fat 3.6g Saturates 1.8g salt 2.6g sugar 202 Calories Not bad in my opinion. The box also states that the sausages are vegan friendly. they taste...GREAT! No nasty aftertaste, I even get them past meat eaters who will admit to loving them. They are a good size and quick to cook (10 to 15 minutes) either grilled or shoved in the oven. They are just as versatile as *n...more

Premium Review Linda McCartney Sausages: Hello Meat-eater im a vegetarian sausage! (592 words)

Having read an article in my beloved Olive magazine (earlier review has that covered) about how meat consumption has increased and therefore Soy consumption has also upped which is having a massive impact on deforestation it got me thinking. I am a meat-eater, always have been and always will be (sorry veggies, don't hold it against me!) however that does not mean I have to solely consume so much of it. I resolved to cut down, the first step has been to have vegetarian packed lunches, a simple change but that's a third of my meals which hopefully will save some trees and as the other half was away tonight I decided to try a vegetarian dinner. Linda McCartney ...  Read the complete review

Linda McCartney Vegetarian Sausages **The Product** These sausages caught my eye in the supermarket freezer section. I have been a vegetarian for most of my adult life and as a rule I avoid what I term 'pretend meat'. After all I do not choose to eat meat, so why would I want to eat imitation meat products? However, there are times when a quick easy meal is required and with this in mind I bought a packet of Linda McCartney Vegetarian Sausages to try. The Linda McCartney brand is well known among vegetarian people and in recent years the range of vegetarian dishes she made famous have been re-developed and revitalized to appeal to todays ...  Read the complete review

Ah, Linda MCartney and her vegetarian range... when these were launched in the early nineties there was a farm-fresh style advert with a crow singing her name. The sadly passed away wife of an ex-Beatle, famous for healthy and organic vegetarian living is surely the perfect endorser for a decent meat substitute. And these really are a decent meat substitute. I'm not vegetarian and I do like the traditional banger sausage, yet eating these is a sensation in themself. It doesn't taste like pork or beef but has that slightly mushroomy, tofuey taste. However the sausages are flavoured well and I've always quite enjoyed the taste of Quorn, beancurd and the other ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Who needs a silly meat sausage?! (408 words)

Linda McCartney Sausages are one of the most widely available vegetarian sausages on the market. They're available in most supermarkets, including Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsburys and Asda. They cost around £1.89 for 6 sausages (300g) from the freezer compartment. You need to keep them in the freezer and cook from frozen, but if for some reason you thaw them out they're fine to use from chilled. You can grill, fry or bake them in the oven, so they're quite versatile. They take from 10-20 minutes to cook depending on the method used. The sausages are of a good size, nice and fat, and have a lovely meaty flavour, which isn't overpowering. They don't have ...  Read the complete review

The late Linda McCartney was nothing short of passionate in her beliefs, Linda herself a long time vegetarian actively encouraged her husband Paul McCartney to embrace and take on her strong beliefs. Sadly Linda is no longer with us but her range of vegetarian food lives on and only a few weeks ago Paul gave the Vegetarian Society the go ahead to make the most of her recipes in some cooking classes that they are about to introduce. The Linda McCartney vegetarian food range has undergone yet another revamp on the packaging front, the last major revamp was only just two years ago. I think that the newly designed packaging is contemporary and eye catching. For ...  Read the complete review
