Advantages: Rich and tasty chocolate, smooth and thick, looks so cute, good easter gift

Disadvantages: Only available around easter

I gratefully received a little 200g milk chocolate Lindt bunny last easter (I had this review all drafted up but never submitted it for some reason). I was on a diet at the time and told everybody not to buy for me so instead of a big egg I got this little bunny.

The Lindt bunnies are seasonal and are sadly only available around easter time each year, although they can be ordered at various places online. They are available from all the good food shops such as Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda and Morrisons. I've heard that Lindt also make dark chocolate and white chocolate bunnies but I've never tasted or even seen these in the shops. The RRP price for the 200g bunnies is between £3 - £4.

The bunny is wrapped in a thin golden foil and is 15.5cm in height . He doesn't look like a silly cartoon rabbit but a sophisticated little chap with serious expression and much like a real bunny. He looks so gorgeous that it's actually hard to want to unwrap him (even from a chocoholics point of view). It's so well made that you start to believe those fabulous Lindt adverts - yes my bunny is most definitely hand crafted with pure passion from the finest chocolatier in the world..when in actual fact it's probably Dave from the mass bunny making Lindt factory in South London! The bunny also has a red ribbon around his neck with a jingly bell on. This is an extra cute touch, although it did cross my mind how many of these were just being chucked in the bin all over the country... I might like these little bunnies but the environment must hate them!

When unwrapping the bunny I was hit with the unmistakable scent of Lindt chocolate. The bunny was hollow and the chocolate was about a centemetre thick - this was one of the things that I really liked about the bunny as most chocolatey hollow products are quite thin and flimsy. Infact the ears are made from solid chocolate! When you broke into the chocolate it made a snapping sound.

The texture of the chocolate was totally smooth with no sign of any lumps, bumps or bubbles. It is light brown in colour and looks almost looks polished. It tastes just devine, I had a quick look to see what other Dooyoo members thought of this product and was shocked to see 2 star ratings! I found it delicious and totally moreish (abit too moreish infact). The taste is hard to describe as I don't think I've ever tasted anything which tastes like Lindt chocolate but it's very rich and creamy. It does absolutley not have that cheap chocolate taste which many chocolates seem to have.. at £3 - £4 I shouldn't think so either!

I'd love to know how much fat and calories the bunny has in it, well I wouldn't but I would for the purpose of this review but I can't find nutrional information anywhere and the wrapper has long since been thrown into my recycle bin.

Overall this is a lovely (and cute) easter present and sweet treat for adults aswell as kids and I recommend to all. It also makes a nice change from a plain old easter egg!

Summary: A happy easter indeed!
