Advantages: Rich great tasting choclate that melts in the mouth
Disadvantages: You may feel guilty looking at the poor thing before devouring
So, ignoring the confusion about what bunnies and choclate have to do with Easter (Thank you to the late Bill Hicks for raising those points when I was younger and getting me into a lot of trouble at school when I asked about it!), Easter is a time for rebirth, awakenings, and most importantly chocolate edibles in the shape of creatures.
And Lindt have made the perfect Easter treat in the form of the gold bunny, it's brilliance isn't just in looks or taste but also in the lovely adverts they show on tv when they are looking for the bunnies and ring a lindt bell and they all come out from their hiding places. It's just an utterly charming advert that makes me smile.
But onto the product itself, the Lindt chocolate bunny is commonly found around easter time, nestled with the more upmarket easter eggs or in your newsagents. He comes dressed in luxurious gold foil with a lovely little working bell around his neck. Upon unwrapping the foil you find a thick but hollow chocolate bunny that smells the way chocolate should.
The smell of the chocolate is enough to make your mouth water, it is a deep rich smell like that you get when in real chocolatier shops over the channel. This is not like Cadbury's, or Hersheys - this is far better.
Look-wise the chocolate looks just like any other milk chocolate, which is very deceiving when combined with the smell.
And so to the taste - well, as you can imagine from the smell it is a rich tasting chocolate that has a much deeper taste than your run of the mill milk chocolate. It also has a wonderful melting quality, as soon as you place a piece in your mouth it begins to melt, covering your entire tongue with the rich sweetness of the chocolate. It is a very satisfying taste and feeling as you eat it.
So grab them while you can, and if like now it's too late to nab one, don't fear - the Lindt chocolate reindeer and santa are made from the exact same chocolate and in the same way so you can enjoy this confection even now that the nights are drawing in.
Summary: Grab them when you can!
