Matlows love hearts have been around for a very long time. Everybody has tried them, or at the very least has heard of them. These sweets are in a clear cellophane tube packet with a white label. The label has love hearts written in red and has images of love hearts too. Now you can get mini packets too which are wrapped in pink foil style paper, and in my opinion look better. But you do only get about 5-6 sweets in them, so not quite as good as the normal pack holding 20 sweets. They also now sell giant love hearts and large packets, which hold 40 odd sweets. The brand is also so well known they have their own site selling jewellery and other gifts. You ... Read the complete review

To me Love Hearts are solid sherbet, they're not majorly fizzy but have got a wicked tang to them that doesn't come out until you've had the sweet in your mouth for a few seconds. Love Hearts come in a roll and are quite thin round sweets that have been embossed with a heart on one side and inside the heart there is a little saying that used to be based on love and romance but now your just as likely to find one saying 'Text Me'! I remember when I was in junior school me and my mate always used to give the 'I Love You' one to Dean Sayers because we were both madly in love with him. I should have asked for them back when I saw him the other day ... Read the complete review

I recently bought a bumper bag of sweets for £1, and included in the bag was a packet of these sweets. Swizzels Matlow probably isn't a name that a lot of people would recognise, but they are basically the main company for sweets such as these, as well as the parma violets and other similar sweets. The Love Hearts are a gimmicky sweet, essentially a kind of mild, hard sherbert. In essence, there shouldn't really be anything special about them, but each individual disc shaped sweet is emblazened with a slightly ridged heart. The disc itself is white, and the hearts are various colours, pale but visible, and within each heart is a message, one or two words, such ... Read the complete review

I Want U. Say Yes. You're Mine. Cheeky Boy. Doh! Just a few of the many, many messages that can be found on Matlow's Love Hearts! Who hasn't gotten a packet of these and picked out the most appropriate and special ones to give to a loved one? Be it a partner, a close friend, or the kid in the playground you had crush on as a child? Roughly the same diameter as a 1p coin, but a little thicker, each Love Heart is a tangy sherbet-like sweet, which breaks up upon chewing to foam slightly in the mouth. The sweets have a heart embossed on each side, with a different message embossed within one of the hearts on each sweet, usually with a message ... Read the complete review

I am currently working my way through my Bumper Bag of sweets that I bought at Tesco today for 84p. One of the types of sweeties that came in this bag by Swizzels Matlow is Love Hearts. I bought this bag of sweets while out on a 3 hour drive with my boyfriend, and we had great fun flirting with each other over the love hearts. It says on the front of the bumper bag that the selection of sweeties is meant for children, but I assure you we are grown ups (or near enough, anyway) and we loved them. Love hearts are sweet, circular discs that pack up into a long tube shape and are wrapped in plastic. You unwrap one side of the plastic to get the ... Read the complete review
