... strong red pepper I do think it contributes to the overall flavour as do the fried onions. I don't find it overly garlicky either - another of my pet hates :) So if you are a fusspot like me, or even if you just like a good bhuna you could do a lot worse than to try this sauce, I recommend it 100% and personally think it's the best one available at the supermaket. A right Bhutiful Bhuna! Thanks for reading x...more

I was first introduced to Loyd Grossman's pasta sauces a couple of years ago by my mum a couple of years ago and I was really suprised and impressed with how they tasted. They tasted a lot fresher than I had expected and I really enjoyed all the different favours. Up until recently however I had not tried the curry sauces as they were considerably higher priced than a lot of other curry sauces by other leading brands. The Lloyd Grossman sauces were on offer recently though at 2 for £2, SO I decided to give them a go. The picked up 2 different varieties, I chose the Korma and Bhuna. I'm not really a fan of really hot curry's, I am not all that brave with ...  Read the complete review

I often use the Loyd Grossman tomato pasta sauces as I find them quick and easy to make and also very tasty and of a good quality. This is what got me interested in his curry sauces. Now, I've already tried the Tikka Masala flavour which I really liked but my husband is not the biggest fan. He doesn't really like creamy curry sauces and this one is quite creamy and has honey and yogurt in it so I decided to try one of his other ones. He does have varieties such as Rogan Josh, Thai Chilli, Balti, Korma etc but I find ones like the Korma and Madras way too hot so I settled on the Bhuna as I know from actual Indian Restaurants that these are very flavourful but also quite ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Loyd Grossman Bhuna: Curry Cheat (814 words)

A few months ago Mr Lools was away with work for a few days and I just couldn't be bothered to cook a curry for myself after coming home from a long day at work so was debating whether to treat myself to a takeaway. However my mother must of read my mind and rang me and asked if I wanted to go round for tea. So off I trouped and expected a homecooked curry. I don't actually mind sauces out of jars if they are any good but my mother is the type of person who ALWAYS cooks from scratch. Her curry's can take around 3 hours to cook. So when I sat down at her table I thought it only right to compliment her on how great her Chicken Bhuna smelt and once I had taken a few ...  Read the complete review

Those of you who have read my Patak's Balti sauce review will know that I was far from impressed. Basically I'm a massive fusspot when it comes to food and am even worse when it's ready made. Trouble is there are so many ingredients I don't like I am admittedly a nightmare! However I do enjoy a curry but it's one of the few things I just can't be bothered to make 100% from scratch. I took a chance upon this Lloyd Grossman sauce in the supermarket a few months ago and I was so impressed I thought I'd write a little review. Lloyd, famous for his masterchef antics has brought out a range of sauces & soups for the supermarkets. The bhuna always ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Loyd Grossman Bhuna: Quick and easy meal (395 words)

The first thing I should mention is that Loyd Grossman Sweet Tomato Bhuna has a new recipe and is now Lloyd Grossman Bhuna. I have to confess I have tried the original and new recipe and like both and to be honest can't really tell the difference. This is a fairly typical jar of sauce to cook some meat in to make a quick and easy meal but in my opinion it is far superior to most of the sauces on the market. It does give a much more "home cooked" result. The jar has 425 g contents and I paid £2.08 for my jar. Ingredients The sauce contains: Tomato, onion, water, sunflower oil, tomato paste, red pepper, sugar, coriander, ...  Read the complete review
